I'm shocked to read the bad reviews…

I'm shocked to read the bad reviews about the trustee of UKGSR as that is the polar opposite of my experience. Everyone I have dealt with is 100% professional, courteous and friendly. A fabulous rescue that deserves positive recognition for the good work it does for this beautiful breed.

i was very open to opening my life up…

i was very open to opening my life up to and offering a german sheperd a loving home,i emailed UK-GSR ,telling them how i am a carer for my elderly mother but live alone in a rented property with permission for a dog,a secure garden ,i couldnt afford to have my own dog as i dont believe in not insuring them,so i was looking to foster to help a dog have a home life as much as they would help me,,i explained everything to UK-GSR as in i have always been around dogs even voluntering at my local rescue ,,after sending my email the only response i got back was ;NO WE WOULD NOT ALLOW YOU TO FOSTER OR ADOPT:,,i thought that was a bit judgmental and replied asking them if they could explain why they thought i was unsuitable considering their onsite foster adverts encourage anyone to try and seemed that they would at least consider evryone,,the reply i got back was just as blunt stating:WE ARE NOT PREPARED TO DISCUSS PLEASE TRY ANOTHER RESCUE,,,with these type of responses i am really saddened for the beautiful dogs that come into contact with these people,i hope the dogs get treated better then people like myself who wanted to show love to an unfortunate animal

Suzan the rude witch

I filled in a application to rehome a gsd to receive an email back from Suzan to say I can’t afford to look after a dog and all she was going by was the fact I had put the PDSA as my vet I only put that on there because last week at 4 am I had to have my previous rescue dog put to sleep and it was by them as they were the only out of hours vets open so I phoned her and told her I was self employed and I have a very successful business and she then accused me of fleecing the PDSA when I in fact I paid full price to have my dog put to sleep plus the £300 for them just to see her this women is absolutely vile and shouldn’t be anywhere near dogs or people I have never spoken to someone so rude or obnoxious I just feel sorry for all them poor dogs she is trying to re home if she speaks to people the way she spoke to me this morning and by looking at the reviews on here about her it looks that way if you read this review you rude hag do them dogs a favour and resign you should be ashamed of yourself you don’t know peoples personal situations so you shouldn’t pre judge people I have more than enough money in my bank to go and pay cash for a dog but I’ve always had rescue dogs because there is to many stuck in rescue centres like yours

Furiiously
Please proceed with caution

I rescued a dog from this place in 2014 and it seems the woman who is the trustee hasn’t changed a jot. I took on 1 dog although they tried to pressure me into taking a second but luckily I stood my ground. I expressed in my home check that I could deal with most behaviour issues but not aggression. The dog turned out to have severe fear aggression towards all other animals big and small. To cut a long story short the dog had to be returned although it broke my heart to see him go as I think he was just another amongst many that this woman makes money from. I wrote her emails and text messages asking why this had happened and all I wanted was an explanation and an apology. In both email and text I got a multiple f*off. I just want to warn anyone considering adopting from this rescue that you need to be VERY careful. I don’t doubt the volunteers do a great job but ultimately the trustee (excuse the pun) cannot be trusted.

Very prejudice

Wouldnt process my application due to having a non physical health issue. Had GSD's all my life, wanted to give a rescue dog a nice home, but I'll just go buy one now.Very prejudice.

please look else where

The ‘trustee’ of UK German Shepherd rescue is the most money greedy woman I have ever come across. She is more bothered about money than the dogs welfare. The dogs are very poorly assessed and major medical and behavioural information is revealed after adoption has taken place and god forbid you have a genuine complaint as you met with nothing but a serious lack of compassion and she literally could not care less. The volunteers try their best they really do but even they do not see eye to eye with the ‘trustee’, she truly believes she is better then anyone. Thankfully the two dogs we rescued from them have a happy life even though it has been an exceptionally testing time as we were not told in full about their behaviour till we actually raised concern. In our home check we made it more than clear we needed a dog friendly dog. We understand sometimes these dogs come from difficult backgrounds but been made aware of them would of helped! However since we actually love dogs we made it work. The 3rd dog we tried to adopt from UK German Shepherd rescue did not go according to plan, after all these are animals not inanimate objects but received nothing but careless responses and then eventually completely ignored. Needless to say do your research when it comes to rescuing an animal, go to a company that actually invest proper time and money into their cause.
