As others have commented, I have MARIA to thank for outstanding customer service. My package was lost/destroyed in the US postal service as displayed on the tracking, and she was wonderful in getting it replaced promptly, AND following up to ensure I had what I needed. Overall, the WEBS site is very good, the selection is good, prices are good. I really appreciate this resource. Thank you!
I placed an online order and later noticed I hadn't updated my address to include a P.O. Box, which is essential for my location since all mail goes there or is returned. I contacted the customer service team, and they quickly resolved the issue. My order arrived promptly, and I am very grateful for their assistance.
I am very happy to note, you have wool/yarn from Italy. I lived in Italy for 30 yrs, and just love their yarn. I have been looking for so long for yarn that suites my needs, and finally I have found it; I will place my order as soon as possible. Thank you in anticipation. Anna
I am so disappointed. I have been going to Webs for years making the 90 minute trip with knitting buddies. I went today and was shocked at the lack of stock when we entered. So many empty shelves and shelves with only a couple skeins in the same dye lot. The back used to be a bargain hunters dream, quality stock at excellent prices. Recent emails showed a restock of Malabrigo yarn. There was almost none in the store. Buying yarn involves touch, sight, and smell. Online just isn't the same. Once again a treasure has been ruined due to buyouts and greed.
Someone posted an incorrect picture of the color of yarn I wanted to buy, so I was misled about the product. I verified this by comparing Web’s photo to the one on the yarn manufacturer’s website on the same monitor. It is absolutely wrong. The manufacturer photo matches the product I received perfectly. It’s 75% acrylic yarn, dye lots do not vary this wildly for artificial fibers. I even sent them a side by side screenshot. They didn’t acknowledge it and apparently refuse to refund my initial shipping cost and are also making me pay for return shipping. The stuff no longer ships from MA, it comes from someplace in MO so it’s not even regional to the NE anymore—more $$ and longer time to get misrepresented yarn that I now have to send back and wait on a refund for. Webs/yarn.com used to be great when it was family owned, but now it’s just soaking up my time and money without even providing a useable product. By the way, now if you want to return an order to their brick and mortar store to save shipping, they will only give you a store credit. You have to mail it to some warehouse on your dime. The new owner (Missouri Star Quilt Co.) doesn’t care about customers or yarn
I needed guidance in understanding 'Positive Ease' for a pattern I purchased. I had looked it up on the internet several times. They were all hard to understand. Maria in Customer Service was wonderful. I received an email with complete instructions that were so easy to understand. Have already shared it with my knitting friends. They're thrilled to have the info.
I live many states away from WEBS so maybe get to visit once every 2-3 years. I tend to purchase several patterns at a time. When I realized recently that one of the patterns they printed off for me was missing the graph, they were kind enough to email me the entire and complete pattern. Everyone was so nice!
