Advise not to use Zettle
My zettle terminal which is used probable once a month threw up a BL error. Was told by zettle support this cant be fixed and wanted just short of £150 for a replacement. It appears the BL fault is quite common and for a reason that can only be a coincidence appears after the machines warranty has expired.
So, no zettle I wont spend another £150 with you to have this happen again

Unexpected Name Change Without Notice — Very Frustrating. I’ve used this service for years and generally found it dependable, but this recent incident has really driven me away. Out of the blue, the app underwent a name and branding change to “PayPal POS.” There was no email, no notification, nothing. One day, when I needed to process a payment, the app I relied on was simply gone. I accidentally deleted it because I didn’t recognize the new name, wasting precious time trying to figure out what had happened. For a company that offers essential payment tools, this is unacceptable. Changing your entire brand and app name while users are running their businesses — without any communication — is extremely disruptive. It made me appear unprofessional in front of a customer and caused unnecessary stress. Honestly, this has eroded my trust in them. I’m now seriously considering switching to another provider because I need a service that communicates effectively and respects its users.

Scammers!

Scammers! I run a seasonal business. They’ve taken all my funds, and not a single penny has reached my account. This prevented me from purchasing more stock and significantly impacted my business profits. I filed a complaint, and they never responded. How they are allowed to operate like this is outrageous!

Holding Funds to Earn Interest

This service is a complete joke for small businesses. I processed payments on Saturday, paid my fees, and was told the money was “sent.” Now, five days later, the funds are nowhere to be found. The service blames the bank, and the bank blames the service. I’m left with no money, no answers, and a business to run. This is NOT “payment processing.” This is holding merchants’ money hostage while someone else earns interest on it. The fact that I’m paying fees for this delay makes it even more ridiculous. Zero transparency. Zero urgency. Zero accountability. If your business relies on cash flow, avoid this service at all costs.

**BUSINESS OWNERS SHOULD STAY AWAY** I have used this service, previously known as Zettle, for over a year. Recently, I discovered the lack of security associated with this system and the absence of merchant protection. A client purchased a high-value service through this platform, signed an agreement with a clear no-refund policy, and after the service began, they initiated a chargeback claiming a ‘canceled subscription.’ Despite providing extensive proof of the agreement, messages, timestamps of their attendance, and proof of payment, the funds were still returned to the customer. This platform offers zero merchant protection and does not handle disputes internally, leaving the decision to the customer’s bank, which often sides with the customer. Moving forward, I will not use this service again and will switch to more secure payment processors. If you want security for your funds, avoid this at all costs.

Unfair Business Practices

This company is very unfair to deal with, having created a monopoly on their devices, which are unavailable elsewhere, and charging significantly above market value for a device we use to collect payments for their high commission, which in our case exceeds £400 per month.
