it was good before they started increasing the price by a whole 30% for existing long term subscribers. atrociously greedy. This should be straight illegal. They do it once, they will do it again. and again.

They decided to harm their own long term customers I will not be using this product anymore.

Excellent Product, But Aggressive Price Increases Are Hard to Ignore

I’ve been a 1Password customer for three years and, in terms of functionality and usability, it’s a strong product. It was a clear improvement over LastPass for me, particularly given the security concerns surrounding that platform at the time. However, I’ve just received notice that my annual price is increasing from $35.88 to $47.88 — a 33% rise in a single year. Over the past three years, my subscription cost has increased by 122%. That level of escalation is difficult to justify.Password managers aren’t something you switch casually. Once you’ve migrated hundreds of logins and embedded them across devices, browsers, and workflows, moving elsewhere becomes a significant task. That makes sharp price increases feel particularly uncomfortable, as customers are effectively locked in by the time substantial rises occur. It’s disappointing, because the platform itself is genuinely very good. If pricing had increased gradually and proportionately, I’d have no hesitation recommending it. But steep hikes over a short period change the overall value proposition. For now, I have to rate it 2 out of 5 — not because of the product quality, but because of the pricing trajectory. New users should be aware that the entry price may not reflect what you’ll be paying a few years down the line.

I am SO frustrated with 1Password. I've tried to switch from LastPass twice in two years and I can't figure out how to make it work. First install the desktop app, then the chrome extension, then add to safari on my iPhone, turn them all on, turn LastPass off, etc, etc. I followed all the instructions I could find and then some and there are some websites it just won't work on. SOOOO frustrating that there are so many variables that I am again giving up.

Do you know how you transfer all your apple stuff to a new iPhone? Press ONE button, set the old and new next to each other and in 10 minutes it's magically done. C'mon 1Password, talk to Apple and when you make the install so it actually works for a casual user, you will gain at least one customer. But for the forseeable future, I'll keep using the one that was hacked in 2022 in the hopes they have fixed that problem .

AVOID IT!

AVOID IT!I had 1password app on my iphone for many years, but in 2025 Dec I decided to make trial for new functionality to share data among other iOs devices. After trial (which does not satisfied my) - all my data on all devices became unavailable. Unfortunately, I forgot password as for many years I used app with face id. But now face/ finger id became prohibited. So, no help from company, no possibility to restore or to get my data back.

There is no customer support

There is no way to get customer support. When it refused to recognize my password, I tried to contact customer support. I could only do so via a chatbot. It kept asking for my email and setting up new customer support case numbers. It has been over 18 hours since I first contacted them. 1password's chatbot indicated that someone would get to me in one hour.
