I just returned from the 4 day Classic Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu with Action Peru Treks, and I’m still riding the high of one of the most incredible experiences of my life. If you’re thinking about doing this bucket-list hike, stop thinking and book with them - you truly won’t regret it.
From the very first email, their team was exceptionally responsive and professional. They patiently answered every question I had about permits, gear, altitude acclimatization, and training tips. What truly sets Action Peru Treks apart is that they are a 100% indigenous Quechua family-owned company.
This isn’t just marketing, you feel their deep cultural connection, passion, and authentic knowledge on every step of the journey.
Our group quickly felt like family. The guides don’t just show you the trail - they bring the history, spirituality, and living traditions of the Inca Empire to life in a way no other operator does.
The porters were absolute legends, the food was surprisingly gourmet, and the entire operation ran like clockwork while still feeling warm and personal.
This trek wasn’t just a hike through stunning mountains, it was a profound, soul-stirring adventure I’ll remember forever.
Action Peru Treks didn’t just organize a trip; they helped create memories that will last a lifetime.
Highly, highly recommended. 5/5 stars — easily the best decision I made for my Peru trip.

My wife and I just completed the 8-day Huayhuash Circuit with Action Peru Treks, and hands down, it is the best trek I have ever done. If you're debating whether this remote corner of the Peruvian Andes lives up to the hype, it doesn't. It surpasses it in every possible way. From the moment we left Huaraz, the team had everything perfectly organized. The drive to the trailhead, the gear, the campsites seamless. Our guide Marco was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about the mountains, sharing stories and keeping the group motivated through the tough sections. The cooks were absolute legends: every day they delivered fresh, delicious meals with variety (even cake and gourmet options on the trail!), accommodating dietary needs without a fuss. The horsemen and support crew worked tirelessly so we could focus purely on the experience. The trek itself is pure wilderness magic. Towering snow-capped peaks like Yerupajá, turquoise glacial lakes that look photoshopped in real life, dramatic high passes (several over 4,800–5,000m), and that raw, untouched feeling of the Cordillera Huayhuash every single day. We crossed Siula Pass with jaw-dropping views of the Tres Lagunas, navigated steep ascents and rewarding descents, and camped in spots that felt like the edge of the world. It's challenging - expect long days, significant elevation gain, cold nights, and the effects of altitude, but for fit trekkers who come properly acclimatized in Huaraz, it's incredibly doable and deeply rewarding.Action Peru Treks made the difference between a good trek and an unforgettable one. They handled logistics flawlessly, prioritized safety, and showed real care for their team and the environment. As a Quechua-owned company, their ethical approach and community focus added a meaningful layer to the adventure. If you're looking for one of the world's most spectacular mountain circuits without the crowds of more famous trails, stop searching. Book the 8-day Huayhuash with Action Peru Treks. You won't regret it - you'll be talking about it for years. I already can't wait to return for another adventure with them!
We had an amazing time and are so happy with Action Peru Treks!! Although we planned to hike the 2D/1N Inca Trail, we changed our plans due to pouring rain on the day and sore knees and feet before we even started. However, Roxner and his team had everything all planned out precisely and we had no stress in regards to our travels. Our personal guide, Odon, was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Machu Picchu and the surrounding areas. He was a great asset to our trip as he was with us for the 2 days and came up with a good "Plan B" for us since we canceled our hike. We enjoyed some local hiking around Agua Calientes, visited a butterfly sanctuary, the MP historical museum and soaked in the local thermal springs. Odon gave us a detailed history of MP and was a pure delight to get to know. We would do it all again and highly recommend Odon as your guide and Roxner and team at the Action Peru Treks!
