I've tried a lot of tea companies, and this is one of the best. Their customer service is stellar, their teas are amazing, their packaging is minimal and their bags actually keep the tea fresh - the bags seal really, really well. I'm a huge fan of the blends, they're all really nicely balanced and the company is really straight forward about how much caffeine they have.
I'm done. I've been a customer of this company since 2014, I made several fandom blends of my own, however the SKYROCKETING prices, lowering quality, and ABYSMAL customer service has destroyed any interest. What's more, I went to buy one of my own blends and THAT is how I found out that 99% of them got hit with a trademark issue. Changing the name and art worked briefly, however the next time I went to buy any I found the ones that HAD been resolved were struck again. The company has become less and less user friendly and fan oriented and hasn't even been trying since they lost Teavana as a competitor
Adagio Teas was discovered by me when I went to a coffee shop in Souderton, PA. The owner offered me different samplers. To my amazement, I love it so much that I switch from coffee to drinking tea every day. Thanks to my friend-owner- Phil for sharing me their products.
So I ordered $65 of tea from Adagio and when I received it there was some kind of wire, about 4 inches long, in one of the bags of tea. I wrote to Adagio asking for a complete refund. They replied they would send me another bag of tea and that they "try to make sure" that any foreign objects are taken out of their tea before it goes out....which I thought was a rather strange way to word it. What really turned me totally off with them was that I had made it extremely clear that only a refund would do and they completely, totally ignored what I said and did what they felt like doing. Why on earth would I want MORE of their tea when I had to throw the $65 worth I had already purchased away, which I also made clear?? Although I had written that I would not post any negative reviews if I were to receive a refund because I was convinced, at the time, that what had happened to me was a fluke, the casual arrogance in their choice to completely ignore my wishes and keep my money for a product that is an actual physical safety hazard is simply not acceptable to me. Their strangely cavalier acceptance of the existence of foreign materials in their tea really bothered me and made me think that this seems to be something they have dealt with before, and for that reason I am posting this review, because I feel this is something other consumers should be made aware of. Occasionally I make tea the Chinese way, by simply sprinkling the tea leaves directly into the pot; what if I or my husband had ingested or choked on that wire? Adagio's complete and utter lack of concern for this very real possibility really, really bothers me. I feel it reveals quite a lot about how they really feel about their customers. I relate my experience with Adagio as a warning, because while the effects I suffered were just getting grossed out and being denied a refund, someone else could potentially experience a far more dangerous result. The existence of a 4 inch long piece of twisted wire in a bag of tea presents an extreme health hazard, whether Adagio wants to admit it, or not. //The following is my response to Adagio's response to me on this website: I have certainly not placed 7 separate orders with you, but 2 or 3 orders for multiple things, and your intentional misrepresentation of our nonexistent longtime business relationship, as well as your sudden offer to refund my money now that this matter is a public one, only serves to reinforce the falsity of your feigned concern for your customers. Over and over as I read your responses to the reviews of customers who were unhappy with your service I noticed a similar unifying theme: that of denying any sort of validity of the customer's feelings and/or the truth of their experiences with you. Instead of responding directly to their stated complaints and feelings about it all, you smarmily write your little policy-driven babble and go on your merry way with their money. Expecting me to pony up the funds to send your tainted tea back to you is unreal, but then so is your little fantasy world in which you have all the answers and the customer is always wrong. Just wait, sooner or later the majority of your customers will get wise to your true nature. It takes so little to treat others with respect but I guess your family company has decided that the cost of doing so with the people who are paying your salaries isn't worth the effort. It's really not a victory if folks rate you highly only because they don't know how you really are. The truth has a way of coming out, in the end. And that's a very good thing.
Agagio Teas have become my favorite online tea seller. They offer a great variety of teas that seem to be fresher and have more flavor than some of the competitors, and their prices are often lower than the competition as well. They offer a nice rewards program to get freebies or money off your next purchase, which is great for someone like me who buys a lot of tea. They have a number of low-priced samplers available if you want to try them out for yourself!
This company is outstanding...I have never in all the years I have been using them (over 18years) had any issues that could not be resolved immediately! I love that you can read up and research different teas/blends, and more. PERFECT way to keep a company going! Happy New Year!
After seeing some buzz about Adagio Teas online, I decided to place an order. The website is beautiful and has a lot of good information. I placed an order that came fairly quickly, even during the holiday rush. Everything was packed very well and while I find their tea envelope packaging to be fairly plain, that was all forgotten after I opened the first bag. The aroma that I was met with was amazing! All their ingredients seem to be natural and flavorful. They have very generous affordable sample sizes. I immediately reordered a few of the teas I tried. I placed the order on Christmas Eve just hoping to get it sent out after the holiday. Much to my surprise, I got a shipping notification that same afternoon! This company has some genius marketing in limited edition teas around events like full moons, blue moons and leap year day as well as two teas you can only purchase between 3 and 4am! They have also created a welcoming community around their brand. If you like tea, you owe it to yourself to visit their website. You won't be disappointed.
I ordered two Advent Calendars in the middle of November and never received them. Customer service was unhelpful and implied that my family or neigbors stole them when they were 'delivered' by FedEx. After spending hours over a span of several days trying to ascertain what happened to the calendars, I asked for a refund which Adagio would not do. The tea company offered to send the me the advent calendars in late December.
