Review Time
Back in July, my partner and I bought a Kings Half Size Roof Top Bag for our road trip around Australia (we're on the road until the end of the year). Honestly, we were hesitant to buy from Kings based on mixed reviews, but decided to give this one product a go because the price was reasonable and it wasn’t something as important like batteries or an inverter. When we opened the box, we noticed a small hole in the bag. Since we were leaving the next day, we decided we would patched it up ourselves and eventually take into a Kings store. By the end of the week, the bag had four significant holes. Not ideal. When we eventually came across a Kings store in Townsville, we stopped in to see what could be done. The staff member was friendly and willing to help—until we were asked for a receipt after unloading the entire rooftop bag. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the receipt with us. We hadn’t expected to need to carry every van-related receipt around Australia. To make things worse, when we originally bought the bag in Adelaide (SA), the staff member didn’t take down any of our details. So even with a bank statement and the last 4 digits of our card, they couldn’t find our purchase in the system. We then called Kings customer service and were told they’d look into it and call us back. That call never came.We followed up with an email claim. After a week, they replied asking some basic questions. At that time, we were camping in the Daintree Rainforest with barely any reception. Two business days later—on a Saturday—they emailed saying the claim was closed due to no response. I immediately replied asking if it could be reopened. No response.Eventually, I submitted a new claim and got a response from someone named Tash Stokes the next day—but instead of help, it was just a link asking me to review their customer service. Honestly, I’m blown away.I’ve done everything I reasonably can to give Kings the opportunity to make things right after selling us a faulty product. Instead, I’ve been ignored, brushed off, and now asked to review the very customer service that failed us.We may be talking about a $50 item—but $50 means more to us than it does to a multi-million dollar company. And this experience feels like a complete disregard of basic consumer rights.Posting this so others know what to expect before buying from Kings. Sometimes, a "good price" ends up costing you way more in time, energy, and disappointment
Unfortunately Adventure Kings use Team Global Express for delivery of online orders. Having Express in their name is a total joke as is their non-existent customer service. Kings need to have a look at the reviews on here & productreview.com before deciding on a freight company. Over 1400 reviews for TGE on productreview.com of which 96% are negative!! Even if most satisfied customers don't post reviews, that's still around 1350 customers annoyed enough to leave a negative review. If Kings cared about their customer experience they would look elsewhere for a courier. No point having decent gear for the price if it can't be delivered in a timely manner, as expected when paying for delivery. Your holiday will probably be over before your new gear arrives. I currently have two Kings orders which have been 'delayed', according to the tracking. One of them for a week, and Kings have just sent another item that was backordered, via the same joke of a freight company. No doubt it will be held up as well (assuming they eventually show up). Contacted Kings, they won't contact TGE unless it doesn't show up for another week. S*&T experience all round & I advise others to look elsewhere if they need their orders delivered.
Ordered item on line as it indicated there was stock available, I was contacted immediately by staff member indicating that they didn’t have the item in stock and would not be available for several weeks The staff member apologised, was very polite, helpful and provided an out if I’d like that route. I am very impressed by this young (sounded young) behaviour and attitude The Canberra 4wd supa centre should be very proud of this staff member. Item arrived on date indicated, i am happily highly recommend the canberra 4wd supacentre with 5 stars
Regarding the shunt with the 500AH BATTERY MONITOR. it is verry stupid that they have made the bolts on the shunt and M10 instead of an M8 when all their wiring kits run M8 lugs and even their batteries which is what this product is literally designed for use M8 threads. So don't buy this unless you want to have to buy wiring and lugs just to make an adapter then make another adapter adapting it back to what it originally was. They also wouldn't let me return it as I had opened it. Even though I pointed out it does not say they are M10 bolts on the box.If you want a battery monitor that works with kimgs products better then their own product id get the itech world one that already has M8 bolts
