Had an appointment for 8 am. Arrived 15 minutes early as requested and waited 30 minutes before being told the X-ray technician was not in. No apology or nothing. Clerk couldn’t give a dam. Sent to a second location where they would see me immediately which was half an hour a way. Sat in the waiting room 45 minutes before giving up and leaving. AVOID them. They are clueless.
THE HEIGHT OF IMCOMPETENCE.The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Office employees all seem to be reading from the same script. Impossible to get results (diagnosis) of the CT I scan I underwent. Told results would be available in two to three days. Results still not available after six days. Obstructive, dumb, uncooperative bureaucratic process. Lots of standard, robotic apologies but no action. Will NEVER go back to Akumin. Lacks acumen.
As a manager of a Clinic, akumin did not follow up when we attempted to use their services. Never made the appointments or followed up or communicated to us that they didn’t contact our patients. Not the first time we had issues with them. They shut down before, not surprised. Won’t attempt using them again
BEWARE- Rude Incompetent over several days. Waiting room filled with desperate people and myself with request by spinal physician waiting on MRI of my 100 year old mother. In pain she was required to hold position in MRI longer than needed and would not provide the CD in time for the appointment to schedule procedure that day. The staff was overworked, with a waiting room full of desperate people who did not know that the equipment at that facility was not working that day. I was told this was an issue and had to drive mother in pain to another location who had similar problems. Google this company to learn about their consistent problems and reports of poor service with focus on revenue.
The level of care in the medical field has gone down drastically over the years what happen to Communication within the work place the purpose of notating an account is for the next person to understand what’s going on my mom was rescheduled twice because of not having an authorization not requesting information in a timely manner before my 73 yr old mother appointment they stated they call an left a message however no one notated that they spoke to me an confirmed the appointment then I tried to assist on both occasions to get the information needed for the appointment so we wouldn’t be rescheduled everyone stated they only needed authorization but low an behold once we got there they needed doctor notes which I could have requested at the previous appointment that was rescheduled for today an still not seen because they still did not have authorization I requested to speak to the manager Brandy at the time she was in a meeting so her PET tech Sarah came out to speak to me which she was rude unprofessional over talked me while I was on the phone with the PCP office manager trying to get information to assist them I then canceled the next appointment because this would be the third one if you could not get it right on the first two tries then at this point they seem incompetent an at this point I left called back to speak to the manager Brandy which stated she will handle the situation an speak to her tech Sarah but her tone sounded so dismissive as if she really didn’t care an to get me off the phone because her staff notes stated they call left messages that the appointment was canceled but I guess there was no notes stating someone spoke to me an confirm the appointment as if I have nothing to do with my time but come to there office an lie about being confirmed my 73 yr old mother went with out food or water for 24 hrs to show up there just to tell me there’s no authorization they called an oh well basically like why medical staff needs do better be considerate of people time and listen because I’m pretty sure no one want to not eat prepare for a test or procedure just to not have it done I will never go back to Akumin for myself nor my elderly mother
