This site is a SCAM!!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!!

My family of four went to a cruise for Christmas' holiday and we booked a hotel room, for one night, through Algotels. The price was CAD 211, in Fort Lauderdale.

We've got there midnight, and there was no room confirmed for us. We called them and they apologized, saying there is nothing they can do. We ended up paying US 246, and three hours later we were in the room.

Algotels refunded CAD 211, but not the difference.

Extremely tiring and frustrated experience for us and our two kids.

Please avoid this company!!!!

I made a reservation on expedia but got a confirmation from Algotels. I contact the hotel to confirm my reservation and they told me that they declined the reservation and said Algotels was to contact me to let me know and refund me the money. I contacted Algotels and they keep transferring you to different departments and are not helpful. I am only out $270 but I know some people are out thousands. The hotel let me know that they have done this to numerous customers and the chances of getting a refund is slim to none.

I was booking through Trivago to take a trip to Atlanta for a four day work conference and I only saw it was routed to Algotels, who had sketchy online reviews, after I had already made my purchase! A lot of the negative feedback seemed to be from folks who had to cancel their reservation last minute or had something come up but there was a handful of people saying they had a good experience as long as they didn’t cancel their trip plans! That ended up working for me as well as I booked the Hilton in Midtown Atlanta and I got my confirmation email immediately as well as a paid receipt voucher and within six hours, I got a booking confirmation from the hotel via text. I had initially booked overnight, but later that day I called the hotel on my way down and they confirmed that I was on the guest registry and everything has gone well since so I wanted to leave a review here for anybody else who was worried in case they inadvertently booked with Trivago or Algotels too! Just don’t cancel last minute and you won’t have to worry about getting a fast refund, with all due respect to anyone who has to cancel for emergencies

This company is a joke I only give 1 star because I can’t give less. I booked a hotel in one city and was booked in a different city. I have screenshots to prove that I made the reservation for the city I needed and they still refused to make it right and move my booking to the correct city. Because their website doesn’t show the city you book for when you get the first confirmation before you close the browser. The screenshots clearly show the same photo of the city I made the reservation for. They say it’s not proof of any mistakes on their side! Looks like all their reviews on here are poor anyway. Guess they have no desire to try and make themselves look better by fixing their mistakes. Clearly they are just working to steal others money! Steer clear of this company because they are crooks!

I wish I had read the reviews first before booking. I went to the Trivago website to look for a hotel at Dubai International Airport. Algotels had a price of around $52 for a room with free cancellation. I booked 2 separate rooms with a free cancellation for both rooms for July 2026. This was made around 27th January 2026 but the money was debited from my account within about 2 days after booking. I contacted them to question why I was charged as I had requested free cancellation, and I haven't had a reply reply from them. This is appalling, as if I wanted to purchase straight away, the cost of the room was cheaper. Not only that, if for some reason I have to vancel rhey womt refund my money. Thats why I paid a higher price to get the free cancellation. This is very dodgy business practice and not a company to trust.

Disappointing Experience at the Hotel

We spent a week at a hotel in the Deerfield Beach area, and while I initially enjoyed the stay, things took a turn when my wife fell ill. Shortly after, flights were canceled due to heavy snow in South Jersey. We attempted to change our flight to avoid the disruption, but when I reached out to the service for assistance regarding the extra charges for two nights we couldn't stay, they insisted it was against their policy. I refuse to pay the bill and will involve my credit card company if necessary. I find it hard to believe this company operates in such a manner. I will avoid using third-party services for hotel bookings in the future and deal directly instead. This was a very unsatisfactory experience; proceed with caution.

Misleading Booking Experience

I reserved a hotel but ended up at a different one that had the same name. I attempted to reach out to the support team but got no reply. I sent an email to the help desk, received just a case number, and never got any follow-up. Be cautious of these deceptive practices.

Disheartening and Unkind Support

I had a reservation through a booking platform for a hotel in Times Square. After an unexpected family loss, I sought to cancel my booking for compassionate reasons and submitted an obituary as documentation. Initially, the platform informed me that the hotel denied the refund. When I contacted the hotel directly, they confirmed they canceled the reservation free of charge as a courtesy and would verify this with the booking platform. Despite this, the platform continuously refused to accept responsibility and demanded I provide written proof from the hotel, which is unreasonable since I did not book directly with them. As the booking agent, it is their duty to confirm this with the hotel, not to shift the burden onto a grieving customer. The lack of empathy, poor communication, and reluctance to assist made an already challenging situation significantly worse. This was among the most frustrating and insensitive customer support experiences I have encountered. I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking through this platform, especially if you might need assistance during unforeseen situations.

Booking Change Nightmare

The platform altered my booking, and when I called to rectify it, they simply said, "Sorry... No refunds!" I wasn't even asking for a refund, just a correction. AVOID THIS SERVICE!

Highly Unsatisfactory and Unempathetic Support

Extremely unsatisfactory and unempathetic support. I made a reservation through a booking platform for a hotel in Times Square. However, the platform repeatedly refused to take responsibility and insisted I provide written proof from the hotel, which is unreasonable since I did not book directly with them. As the booking agent, it is their responsibility to verify this, not to shift the burden onto a grieving customer. The lack of empathy, poor communication, and unwillingness to assist made an already difficult situation much worse. This was one of the most frustrating and insensitive customer support experiences I have faced. I would strongly caution others before booking through this platform, especially if you might need help during unforeseen circumstances.
