I created an Atlassian account by mistake and I can’t delete it. I already tried everything. Their instructions don’t work and they perfectly know that. I am sure they intentionally made account deletion impossible. I only get messages like “You can’t delete youself” or “Your account can’t be deleted”. There are no laws for them. My advice is to not get involved with Atlassian at all.
Make it impossible to delete your account after starting a free trial (with Loom). Sinister, creepy, strange business practice of trapping you with their account. I would recommend NOBODY sign up with Atlassian as a result.
Do yourself a favour and dont go anywhere near Atlassian or Confluence.
We adopted Confluence for a knowledge base. This is something we update and check periodically and it had our important processes, information and more.
After a period of inactivity, Atlassian went ahead and both deactivated the site and then permanently deleted it.
The process of getting in contact with customer service is near impossible unless you are a paid account, so we didn't know what had occured until we finally found a way to talk to a rep.
All they could say was "Sorry, can't do anything and all your data is deleted and can't be recovered. Want to make another site with us?"

This morning, I was surprised to receive a bank alert indicating that a subscription payment was taken from my account, at a rate significantly higher than what I was previously paying to the original service. After reading other reviews, it seems this is a widespread issue. Many users report similar experiences, and refunds appear to be non-existent. I find it hard to believe this practice is even legal. When a company faces repeated complaints about unexpected charges and fails to act, it raises serious questions about their business ethics. I sincerely hope they take action, refund affected users, and reconsider a business model that leads to such unexpected charges.
I experienced an automatic renewal for a product I only used for two weeks. I received confirmation for a payment that I did not authorize. It took over a week to get a response that was unrelated to my inquiry. Their 30-day cancellation policy feels misleading. When I inquired about last year’s charges, I was told there was no choice this year. They promised not to charge me next year, but I regret using this service and would advise others to avoid it.
I have used this platform for years, storing all my professional information there. After trying to log in using 'Sign in with Google', my email was changed to a temporary address without my consent. This new address cannot receive emails, as confirmed by Google. Consequently, I am locked out of my account, unable to access my data, and stuck in a verification loop. The support team insists they cannot revert the email change or provide alternative verification methods. This is a critical service failure that has left me without access to essential work data. I am still awaiting a reasonable solution for this issue.
This service is overpriced and expects payment for unwanted features. I was charged nearly 400 for four seats. I removed the seats on the same day and requested a refund, but their response was to reactivate the seats to maximize my subscription. This attitude is tone-deaf and greedy. Additionally, the software is slow to load, and I faced issues with anonymous views on my videos due to link sharing. If I could, I would rate them zero stars.
