Avado has now been reported to the British Trading Standards. Having been mis-sold a course we tried to cancel immediately upon receipt of the course material as it was not as described. Avado has refused for us to cancel and have told us that we have to pay for the whole course although we have not even started. The options provided do not offer a refund and are ways for Avado to extract more money by charging a £400 "transfer fee". This company shows no customer care and are a scam. Avoid at all costs.
I've just completed my level 5 CIPD. I've certainly had some ups and downs along the way - and this course has been challenging at times. However, I have felt fully supported throughout my CIPD journey. A lot of the thanks goes to Mark Beecham and Britt Webster who have been extremely attentive throughout my learning journey. Britt in particular has been an outstanding tutor. Her sessions are really engaging, informative and have made me feel confident with assignments. Britt has fast responses and is always happy for a catch up if needed. There was one occasion where there had been a marking error, and Britt personally phoned me to check in and advise of next steps. This was great service and totally put me at ease. I'm so grateful for all her help and support! Sorry for the cringy title but you certainly are the best! Thanks so much Britt and Mark.
Britt Webster has been a great tutor on this CIPD Level 5 journey. Her sessions are well planned and well delivered. She provides helpful links too. She has just the right amount of encouragement that guides towards understanding what markers are looking for. On the last assessment, she added an extra session using Tutor Support Slides. There was nothing on the Avado system, except three weeks into the timeline. Highly commend her on this as it meant she listened and wanted to support the cohort to achieve their best. Thank you.
The Good: The actual training for my CIPD level 3 - People Practice was good. I was happy with it, although there are plenty of areas for improvement. The BAD:I completed & 'passed' my CIPD course via Avado in May 2024. I was told by mid-August that I would receive my physical certificate from the CIPD (after their review) and a digital copy. Neither has come. After calling Avado and not hearing back, I called the CIPD to find out Avado had not registered me as a student and that they had not received any of my work! I was also told I had now missed the current review window, meaning that when this is sorted, I will not receive my certification until the end of January 2025!I have had ZERO contact from Avado to say there were any issues or that they couldn't and had not passed on my work for review. I had to chase this down myself! It is outrageous this wasn't caught sooner and that they clearly do not care about students when the course is over. Surely, they should have checks to make sure this can't happen and for students to be notified if there are issues.I will never use this company again after spending the best part of £1,800 for the course. I started in October 2023, effectively being well over a year before I can technically finish the '8-month' course.Shocking!
Not suitable for students with a learning disability. The CIPD level 5 course materials are not accessible formats for using with screen reading software. No accessibility built into the Avado platform and the separate screen reading software recommend is free of charge on the Internet. It's not an accessible course. I did enquire about accessibility before paying for the course and now I find out its not what I was sold.Updated in response to your reply. There is no integration on your platform, you have to download and use free software from Internet. Having followed your procedures to the letter, the website isn't written to be accessible, which you know because I have sent in specific examples of where your platform hasn't written to be accessible. Your response is unhelpful. In addition, Having sent you specific examples you failed to investigate these and failed to explain how your platform is accessible when it clearly isn't which is why you can't explain how to get it working.
RESPONSE TO MELANIE:Scarlett has not dealt with the matter correctly. Avado's terms are in breach of UK Consumer rights, whichoverride the Avado unfair terms. Having been mis-sold a product and cancelling upon receipt of the product entitles me to a full refund and as such I will not be making any further payments and expect a refund of my deposit. I have not and won't be using your service. The lack of customer care is astonishing and the unwillingness to treat customers with care and fairness makes Avado a company to be avoided. I recommend all potential customers to find a different provider.- REVIEWI have reported Avado to the British Trading Standards and the Ombudsman. After being mis-sold a course I tried to cancel the course one day after receiving the course material and Avado is refusing to let me cancel. Their terms and conditions are in breach of Consumer Rights Laws which entitles you to cancel and obtain a refund 14 days after receiving the product you ordered. I have asked them to refund my deposit and cancel my contract but they are refusing. After seeking legal advice, Scarlett from Avado has failed to respond to my five queries regarding Avado's breaches of UK Consumer Right Law. Avado use high pressure sales tactics for their distance selling methods. Scarlett from Avado's lack of customer care is causing me huge stress and anxiety and they are showing no willingness to resolve the situation.
Excellent experience being tutored by Britt Webster - she's incredibly supportive and well-informed. Britt guided me through the requirements of CIPD L5 and helped me apply the classroom learning to real-world situations. Having led large teams and managed HR policy and process herself, she understands the challenges first-hand.
I am now 8 months into my CIPD level 5 with Avado. I can not praise my tutor Mark Beacham enough. He is an outstanding teacher and very supportive. His teaching style and patience are amazing. He breaks everything down for you to help you understand. That has matched my learning style. I am really enjoying this course and I am over half way there now. Really reccomend Avado as a learning provider.
