The card was overall good for rebuilding my credit, recently closed account. I didn’t like the monthly fee and and annual fee but that’s the price you pay for bad credit. I’m recovering just got rid of it. Had it for 3 years it did what I needed it to do
Took half an hour to get the customer service rep in India to stop talking over me long enough to activate my credit card. Then she told me that I was now able to use my credit card. Well, I tried to use it and - to my complete and utter NON-surprise - it was DECLINED!!! So I have a completely useless credit card from Avant. Great. Thanks for NOTHING!!!!!
Besides the ridiculous interest, which I knew and I'm fine with... they are an absolutely clueless company. Making a $500 purchase, got flagged so I get a text asking me if it was me... pretty standard. I say yes, I get a text that says "thanks for telling us it's not fraud." Purchase declined. I call, they unblock for "potential fraud" ...ummm what was that text for then? Ok, whatever... try again. Declined. Call again. Same thing. Declined. Call. Declined. Call. Declined. Call. Escalated to supervisor, or manager, or whoever feels like acting important at whatever call center in India. Their response... and I am not exaggerating... "We don't have an answer. Your account isn't blocked and everything has been reset. We don't know what to do." I'm sorry... what? That was the last thing they had to say.... "I don't know. It's just not working." I'll be closing this absolutely garbage credit card.
I signed up for a credit card that promised no annual fees, but within a year, they imposed an annual fee. I closed the account and settled the balance on 12/19/25, but then on 1/19/26, I noticed a $150 charge on my debit card for a closed account with a zero balance. When I reached out to them, instead of resolving the issue or providing a refund, they advised me to contact my bank and dispute the charge, which is a much more complicated process. Very disappointing experience with this company and their customer service. I'm relieved to have closed the account.
The credit card I applied for employs misleading and questionable tactics during the application and account setup stages. I strongly recommend that consumers steer clear of this card. Once I opened the account, I encountered unnecessary and excessive fees that seem aimed more at boosting company profits than offering real value to customers. These fees were not disclosed clearly or transparently from the start. I have since paid off the balance entirely and have no intention of using this card again. However, I am keeping the account open and paying the monthly fee just to protect my credit score. I plan to report this company to the Better Business Bureau due to their deceptive business practices. Consumers should be extremely cautious—this credit card does not serve their best interests. A word of caution: Avoid this credit card.
My card is brand new. Each time I’ve tried to use it in a store or online, but transaction is declined. I have called customer service and they assured me that the issue has been fixed. Unfortunately I attempted to make a payment with the card and it is still declining. I tried to reach out to customer service again, but to no avail. Not happy!!
The ease of using the app for all my needs has made this really great. In the past you would have to call for requests like loving cards or requesting an increase. I’ve been able to do all of that from the app. It’s been great, and helps me feel in control.
