Review Time
I was preapproved for a personal loan with Axos Bank. The loan was denied and I found the factors for denying the loan to be weak at best, and one of the factors was completely false. A lifetime of stellar credit apparently means nothing. I will agree that the application process was relatively easy and the response was quick. Based on other reviews I've read I will have no further dealings with Axos Bank.
I started in Nov 2025 to have my sister added as a joint account holder. Had several txt & ph calls to resolve misinformation I was initially given then to clear that up. Only in Jan 2026 was it finally to be accomplished, but still no "joint" information showing by my reviewing data provided by AXOS app. :-(
If I could give zero stars, I would. This is by far the worst bank I’ve encountered. Accessing my own funds is a challenge, and the website is entirely non-functional. Don't be misled into opening a business savings account here. Truly the worst banking experience.
I would give a rating of 0 if that were an option. I deposited $20,000 on December 12, 2025, and it is still not reflected in my savings account. As of December 17, I was on hold for a long time before speaking with a representative who was hard to understand. She mentioned that my funds wouldn't be available until December 23. This is outrageous; they are holding my money for nearly 12 days. If I had known this would happen, I would never have proceeded with this transaction. It feels like a scam. I advise others to avoid this so-called online bank.
Do not be lured by high APY rates. This bank is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. It has locked down my entire savings of over $20k because of a single check for $150, which they could have just rejected, but instead decided to lock me down from access to my own money for weeks. They asked me to mail in physical checks (fine), but their phone representative told me it was the check for $150 that was the problem, so I mailed that one in but that still wasn't good enough - they wanted 3 more checks sent in. So I had to do the process over. Today is Wednesday, it was supposed to arrive on Monday). I waited until the day they were supposed to arrive, with mail confirmation, and now their department (which btw, has no phone number -- totally sketchy, just guys who won't answer a phone, sitting in an office somewhere, controlling my money? So convenient for them - they can just avoid me. Not for me.) BTW they initially asked me to complete a Hold Harmless from from the bank the check was drawn from, United Savings Bank here in Philly, and the manager of that branch flat out told me she thought this bank was a scam because she has never had to do that before. Now, I don't know anything about that because I've never done it before -- and she hasn't either. But how comfortable would that make you feel? Go somewhere else with your hard earned cash.
My first experience with Axos Bank was great! Rana was a key part of that, offering truly excellent customer service. She immediately addressed all my concerns and went the extra mile. I'm glad I chose Axos. Rana, thank you-you're the best!
