The Main St location is absolutely fantastic. Regardless of whenever I have gone, they have been helpful without being pushy, have a great variety of wear to chose from as well as more than reasonable turnaround that you get excited for your new specs.
(The Metrotown location, not so much)
I’ve been getting glasses through Bailey Nelson and Ollie Quinn on Main st, on and off for the past 20 years. After occasionally trying other places on a whim, I always go back to the Main st location. People there are absolutely fantastic

I ordered Progressive Lenses glasses and went twice for eyesight adjustments. No one informed in advance for return/final sale policy. When I reached one of the staff at Chinook Mall and asked for return policy, the staff was very rude and said Bailey Nelson staff told me twice for the return policy. I was shocked because no one informed me in advance, the staff just swipe my card and gave me receipt of the purchase. I left me ordered glasses at the store with their staff and left...no returns, no exchanges, and not even an in-store credit. Zero flexibility, zero customer care.If you’re ordering from Bailey Nelson, you’re taking all the risk. The product didn’t work for me at all, yet Bailey Nelson wouldn’t budge in the slightest. A company that stands behind its products should at least offer store credit, especially when customers can’t try items on beforehand. Plenty of other eyewear brands manage fair return policies — Bailey Nelson clearly doesn’t care once they’ve got your money. Save yourself the frustration and shop elsewhere.
We initially went to Bailey Nelson after discovering that most other optometrists are now surcharging seniors including our former place. Nelson Bailey don't, plus they offer seniors a 15% discount on very reasonably priced product, 100.00s less than most eyglass places. No charge for eye pictures as well so more money saved. Dr. Kim does all the tests herself and takes a lot of time going through everything. Best place I've been and will be going back again when we need to.
Ordered sunglasses online during a sale and was shocked to find out after they arrived that Bailey Nelson treats sale items as final sale — no returns, no exchanges, and not even an in-store credit. I bought two pairs of glasses with graduated transition lens in 2021 from the Albany store Auckland. I’ve looked after the glasses, always keeping them in cases and recently found both pairs of glasses have had the lens turn a golden yellow colour without being exposed to the sun. my previous glasses from other companies have lasted 10 years or more with transition lenses and no discoloration when I took the glasses in today. The sales assistant advised me that I probably shouldn’t expect transition lenses to last four years. She asked me at length about where I kept the glasses hinting that if I kept them in the car exposed, that might be a problem. I assured her that they were always in their case. I advised her that under the consumer guarantees act, and in my previous experience of these lenses, I expected that they should last at least that length of time. She asked me what I wanted to do about it. As part of good customer service I believe the company should offer what they are going to do about it not expect the client to front up with some options. All in all I found the manner of the sales assistant verging on impertinence and very defensive of the company and the unsatisfactory product. They were certainly no words of sympathy or empathy to towards me and what had happened to these expensive glasses. I said I would like the company to explore with the provider of the lens why this discoloration happened and that they should be advising future customers who purchased these expensive lenses that they might deteriorate after four years. The assistant should have expressed surprise at the failure of the productand should have told me that she would be reporting my experience back to the store manager, as an indication that what I had experience wasn’t up to expectation. By offering none of these comments, she endorsed the fact that the company expects the lenses only to last four years. I said I would be bringing up my experience through a review. Had the sales assistant been trained to be more customer, friendly and customer empathetic I may not have written this review. I will not deal with this company again, but I will go into this store in a few months and inquire about transition lenses and how long they expect them to last and I expect them to have retrained their their staff to say that they could deteriorate after at least four years.
Nice choice of fashionable glasses and the staff are fantastic. The glass isn’t very scratch proof even if you buy the top glass they offer. I am on my second pair and I’ve had them for a year and a half now. I am now looking for a new pair but I will find somebody else for better and longer lasting glass.
I went in to see what the store had to offer and was pleasantly surprised, I met three staff members and all were extremely helpful and very nice. There was a large selection of glasses, I had my own prescription, and there was a sale on which I took advantage of, I also brought in a pair of frames I had and had them replace the lenses in those. It has only been a week but so far I am extremely happy with what I got, the prescription was perfect which was totally different from the lenses I got from the last place I got glasses from, Pearl Vision which for some reason got it totally wrong. I recommend this store, it took a week to get my new glasses which again, I am extremely happy with. They didn't have any hard cases for my new glasses but fortunately I had some at home which I amusing, the soft cases they gave me do not offer any protection so I am not using them.
Booked an appointment for my teenage son to have eye exam at Bailey Nelson Queen East in Toronto. After the exam yesterday the doctor did not want to speak with me. I actually tried to speak with her. I thought that was odd. The manager of the store relayed the message that my son could benefit from Blue Light glasses. We then went through the process of selecting those.Fast forward to this afternoon. The store manager calls, leaves a voicemail, telling me that they have made a referral and that my 15 year old knows about it. He didn’t.I call back and ask what’s up. I’m told that the doctor, in an abundance of caution, is concerned enough to refer my son to another level of clinic to assess the issue that he brought to their attention. The manager called because she felt the doctor behaved oddly by not speaking to me.While I’m happy for the referral, I am a bit disappointed that, between the doctor and the store manager, I was expected to hear of the doctor’s concern via a teenage boy.Anyway, all of this is to say you may want to consider a different shop. In my experience optometrists elsewhere do actually speak with parents of kids about what is necessary to keep the kids healthy. This place sort of does that, though you may have to wait 24 hours and hope that the manager comes to feel a bit off about the doctor to the point of calling to let you know herself
Bailey Nelson, Bondi Junction.Nice people! But.....Dodgy specs. Like lenses fog over in say 5 years or less. Frame OK but lenses fading.I've worn glasses over 60 yrs and NEVER met this before.Rapid built in obsolescence.Another pair the lens came out, frame need adjust. But fogging is expensive failure.
