This retreat was really good. It was my first time abroad solo. I was made to feel very welcome from start to finish. Set 10 minutes from Albir a lovely Spanish town. Lots to do, I mainly did the yoga, the instructors were very motivating and I learnt a lot. Different classes available from beginners to intermediate which I enjoyed the challenge. You could come and go as you please. Participate or just chill by the pool. Regular guided walks available also. The vegan food was very tasty something different every day. The only thing I would say was I missed a bit of fish or bread, but that's personal as I'm not vegan. Accommodation was very comfortable. I shared an apartment. But there's option to have your own apartment aswell or share a room. People very friendly. Lots of solo travellers or some came in pairs. Definitely recommend 👌
Very good communication, I always felt heard and met in my needs, for example regarding food intolerances for the juices (which were of high quality, pressed freshly every morning). The instructors were great, I could feel with each one that they were passionate about their job. Everybody was very warm and personal, also the massage therapists and I could experience some breakthroughs with some physical ailments. I felt like a valued regular guest. The classes were small, we were always between 2 and max 8 participants. A very integrative and holistic approach, and the Soundhealing was a real special and deep experience. I also liked that I could plan my trip absolutely flexible so it was possible to do it between job and my young family.
Warning to anyone considering to book a retreat through the website "Bookyogaretreat"> do not trust the Reviews that you see in the list of reviews written on each retreat's listing page. This is because they ONLY publish the positive ones - i.e. those with 5,4 or rarely you'll see the 3 stars ones. You will not see the negative reviews that have 1 or 2 stars. I can report this because between April and May 2024 I booked 2 different mini retreats through their website> one in Corfu' island was positive and they did publish the review I wrote on the listing's page right away but the second one in Fuerteventura island, which was negative, was cheekily NOT published on the listing's page of "Gracy's Surf Yoga Villa Fuerteventura" and it still isn't 20 days after I completed my review. I overall gave that retreat 1 star because their customer service was very bad but surprisingly they did not publish it! If anyone reads on their listing titled "6 Day Yoga Package All Inclusive, The Vegan Yoga Retreat in Fuerteventura" notice that you will only see the positive reviews. Hence, I will not trust to book through that website anymore and it's only ethical to warn other people to know their review system is manipulated!
I had terrible experience with BookYogaRetreats. Think twice about planning of your trip on this platform. I booked the yoga retreat and noticed straight away that I picked wrong dates. I payed deposit. I contacted tripplanner(BookYogaRetreat) about this straight away and also the hotel that i booked. The hotel was very helpful and we agreed that there wasn't possible to change the date and they said that they will cancel the booking on their side. They wrote me that tripplanner (BookYogaRetreat) have the deposit and that i will have a chance to use it for different booking. Tripplanner (BookYogaRetreat) was very slow and unhelpful in the email answers. They claimed that hotel didn't agree to cancel the booking and that they are holding deposit. They were answering very slow and it was clear that there is a mess on their side. Finally when the date of my trip came they didn't answer and i lost the chance of having the successful trip due to lack of communication with them. I got an email few days after the trip that they are not taking the responsibility and that the hotel didn't cancel the booking and that return or reschedule of my deposit is not possible. It was super uncomfortable and stressful experience and I am extremely sad about handling of the matter on Tripplanner (BookYogaRetreat) side. I extremely advise to be careful planning trip with them.
As someone who values holistic wellness and has participated in various retreats, I recently had the opportunity to experience a retreat with bookYogaRetreat Company. While the experience had its highlights, there were notable areas for improvement that I believe could enhance the overall experience for future participants.Firstly, I must acknowledge the positive aspects of the retreat, including the quality of the yoga sessions and the massage, both of which provided moments of relaxation and rejuvenation. However, these positives were overshadowed by several concerns that detracted from the retreat's effectiveness as a holistic wellness experience. One of the main drawbacks was the lack of a retreat-like atmosphere. Despite being marketed as a retreat, the experience felt more akin to staying in a hotel offering yoga sessions. There was a noticeable absence of community and camaraderie, which are essential elements of a fulfilling retreat experience. Additionally, the food offerings were disappointing, with very standard and predictable options that did not align with the nourishing and holistic aspect that is often associated with retreat cuisine.Furthermore, the scheduling of the yoga sessions immediately after breakfast deviated from the typical structure of yoga retreats. Traditionally, yoga sessions are held in the morning before breakfast to facilitate a more focused and energizing practice. While the organizer attempted to accommodate guest preferences by adjusting the timing, it did not fully address the disconnect from the retreat experience I had envisioned. In response to my feedback, the company demonstrated a lack of flexibility in addressing concerns and providing resolutions. Despite acknowledging the feedback, there was no offer of compensation or concrete plan for improvement, which was disappointing given the significant discrepancies between the advertised experience and the actual experience.Reflecting on my experience and considering the concerning reviews of the company's customer service and cancellation policy, I believe there is room for improvement in several areas. Firstly, enhancing the retreat atmosphere by fostering a sense of community through group activities, workshops, and communal dining experiences could greatly enrich the participant experience. Additionally, diversifying and elevating the food offerings to align with the holistic wellness aspect of the retreat would contribute to a more nourishing and satisfying experience for guests. Moreover, greater flexibility and responsiveness in addressing customer concerns, including a more lenient cancellation policy and willingness to offer compensation or alternative resolutions when necessary, are crucial for building trust and loyalty among participants. In conclusion, while there were aspects of the retreat that showed promise, there are significant opportunities for improvement that, if addressed, could elevate the overall experience and position bookyogaRetreat Company as a leader in providing truly transformative and holistic wellness experiences.
