I attended a yoga and hiking retreat in Kathmandu. The yoga, sound healing and massage were amazing with excellent instructors. The accommodation and food in Kathmandu was good, and the overnight stay at Hotel View Point in Nagarcot had breathtaking views.I was disappointed with the hiking experience as changes were made to the original schedule which left me underprepared, and carrying all my luggage when I could have left it at the hotel. Also, we ended up hiking through the busy streets of Bhaktapur instead of through the countryside. This was unpleasant, but I appreciate the option of visiting Bhaktapur.Changes to one of the scheduled yoga sessions was also not communicated with me.
Had I read the reviews before booking I may have reconsidered. However, I did thoroughly read the terms and agreed to them before booking..... as I always would. I noted under section 7.3 a refund would be given if cancelled and buyer conformed to the organisers cancellation process. So, due to an injury It was looking like I MAY not be able to attend an upcoming retreat. I asked the organiser Eat.Sleep.Yoga about my options. (booked via BookYogaRetreats) She offered to sell my place, resulting in "once sold I would NOT be able to attend". She subsequently sold it. She offered a transfer which I was ok with, However, the transfer options were not suitable. due to time or location. So, knowing the consumer law act 2015, all contract terms have to be fair towards the consumer. It took a court order threat to get the money back off Eat.Sleep.Yoga. It should never have got to that point. So I would not recommend them for the terrible customer service and days of grief and pain caused. This part is an honest review of all aspects of the interaction through them. Regarding BookYogaRetreats their interaction was present mainly throughout, (but ESY did go off the platform for subsequent conversations,) But they would tell ESY one thing and not convey this to me and vice versa. BookYogaRetreats preached to me their terms but seemed to fail to recognize they were in breach of their own terms."Tripaneer guarantees that you get a refund of what you have paid i) when you cancel your Reservation in conformity with the Organizer’s terms and conditions regarding cancellation, and ii) when your stay is in fact shorter than what was offered by the Organizer in the Experience Offer. "Not only would BYR not acknowledge 1) this place had been cancelled by the organiser, 2) that goodwill is not enforceable by law in this context, 3) the terms stated if cancelled and I conformed I would receive a refund,,,, but it took again way too many emails and days to organise MY FULL REFUND.I have received the refund in full as I know my rights. I did not breach them but as I write this I still have not been notified of it. Its only because I checked my bank. The customer service is inconsistent, Peter is not talking to Paul. They do not understand THEIR OWN contracts. Be careful. But more importantly KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.Editing after response from Bookyogaretreats. I didn't cancel the place. I asked what my options were IF I couldn't attend. It's completely different from cancelling especially when the organiser States " if sold you cannot attend". and on that point that's why I was always entitled to a full refund. The goodwill offer was not viable. The terms state I was entitled to a refund as I conformed to the terms. I've said this now about 40 times on messages.
First of all: I LOVE ELYYYYY!!!Eli Is the Greek lady taking care of the house and cooking AMAZING CAKE! I asked her, seriously, to come back to Milan with me at the end of the holiday because She Is just Amazing!!!And everything else too.. I was a beginner in yoga and I foundt at Foodpath a practice that helped me find some really powerful tools to go back to myself. I enjoyed everything: the routine (which really help days after days to just let go of the mind and body-memorize and learn the different tools), the Mindfulness approach, the nice, sweet flows of Lara, the practice of the 7 Sun Salutations everyday (I am keeping going on also now!!!) and the Dynamic meditation with the dance. The foodpath team was always available also when we wanted to do some different activities such as sailing boat trip and tour in Lefkada. Just asking to Adonis or Lara or Chiara and they would provide everything! And the Place... The Village Is just beautiful and so authentic! I met so nice people and we all want to meet again coming back for sure the next Season.Thank you all ❤️
I've done two retreats with this organization both of which were top-notch. It is a reputable organization with good retreats all over the world. Their customer service is good. The website sometimes has some glitches but the customer service response is always prompt.
