I booked a retreat through Book Yoga Retreats and fully trusted them. However the ‘retreat’ I booked was NOT a retreat, I was out up in a hotel, on my own, no other ‘retreat’ guests. Had to make my own way to a yoga studio for yoga. I was a solo female traveller and felt very isolated and unsupported. I reached out to Book Yoga Retreats who have not responded to my message. I would never book through them again as they don’t take any responsibility for ‘retreats’ they promote that are not what they say they are. Terrible customer service, and zero respect for customers.
Great value for money,What you see is what you get,Rishikesh is the most wonderful location,The yoga classes truly are designed for your level, the Instructor will give you what you need. The meditation and sound healing was truly amazing! The excursions were interesting, fascinating, beautiful. I was there for ' The festival of colour', what an awesome experience!!! The staff set everything up at the ashram so we could all experience this yearly event, then they took us to down through the town where all the people are dancing and celebrating by wiping powdered paint on anyone they chose to! We then got take down to the Ganges to carry on with the 🎊 celebration 🎉. I definitely want you experience that again! The Indian people know how to celebrate, make everyone feel loved and welcomed! I fell in love not just with India but the people also. They are the kindest, most compassionate people I have ever met in my life and I have travelled a lot! I was also a solo female traveller and I felt totally safe in Rishikesh 🙏Every person who works at the retreat genuinely cares about everyone!!!! You are totally safe in their hands, they will go over and above so your experience is amazing!!!
First time solo traveler, i met different people traveling solo from different parts of the world. Food was so good. I was there 3 days before I realized there wasnt a tv in my room. No ac in the rooms, but i did get a fan and was not uncomfortable.
A Peaceful Escape with Sustainable Practices: A ReviewThis past weekend, I had the pleasure of experiencing a true escape at a beautiful and serene location. It was the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with myself.Beyond the stunning scenery and tranquility, what truly impressed me was the venue's commitment to sustainable practices. They offered a unique workshop where we learned how to harvest local herbs and create our own solid shampoo and balm. This hands-on experience not only provided a fun activity but also showcased their extensive knowledge of eco-friendly products. The delicious food was another highlight. While the focus was on vegan meals, breakfast offered a variety of options including cheese, butter, and honey for those who desired them. The staff's attentiveness and helpfulness further enhanced the experience. They were genuinely kind and open, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The yoga retreat also fostered a wonderful sense of community. The other participants were friendly and shared similar values, allowing us to enjoy each other's company while still having ample space for quiet reflection and solitude.Overall, this weekend getaway was an absolute delight. I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and inspired by the sustainable practices I witnessed. Thank you for such a lovely experience!
Book yoga retreats is a faulty website. They booked dates I was not even considering as I searched for options. Do not upload your credit card information as they will exploit your good intentions as you search for nirvana. Their philosophy appears to be about greed and not helping a yogi on their path for enlightenment.
Really terrible company, avoid. I booked and paid for a retreat through them. Before booking I had confirmed with the retreat what would be included in the package. The whole conversation is fully documented on their site. The retreat decided to reduce the package without any discussion just a few days before I arrived, removing half of the one to one sessions which for me were the crucial to the work I did in this retreat being something I continued with. They stated it was for my own safety and came after a fitness assessment. Except the retreat had never conducted an assessment of me (again documented) and they had never said any of the package was subject to an assessment. Not only this but we had never been specific how the one to one training would be spent and there were many ways that time could have been spent - I had presumed a lot of it was discussions, pointers etc and not just more high-impact training.I objected to the package being reduced and questioned why it was. The owner decided to cancel my booking 1 day before I flew to another continent for the retreat. BookYogaRetreats/Tripaneer are allowing them to do this without any compensation for my flights, time I have booked off or any other inconveniece they have caused. They let the retreat owner decide if I should be compensated even though their terms state that the owner should cover all costs should they cancel a retreat.I am having to now take legal action against them in the Netherlands. Luckily. I have everything well documented. If you do decide to risk booking with them make sure you document every conversation by email and make sure you have a full agreement on what your package includes before you book. This is all happening the day before I am meant to travel and they were also still really slow to get back to me. So stressful.
