WARNING ALERT.
As a father of the bride to watch my daughter’s heart being crushed on the most important special day of her life was also the most heartbreaking day of mine. The unforgivable act by your company was inexcusable,callus and lacked humanity in every sense of the word. My daughter had saved and worked tirelessly, over a period of 18 months to have her special day abroad with family, children and close friends. A substantial sum of money had been paid in full to your company to ensure the day was to proceed with all the care and attention it deserved.
Wrong.
At 10 am the morning of the wedding five hours before she was to be married she received a phone call to say her special day had been cancelled. This absolutely shattering news broke her heart with reality setting in so to did the burden on her shoulders that she had let everybody down because what she had worked for so long had failed. Your incompetence was now my daughter‘s heartache and burden, that in my eyes is unforgivable be it on any day let alone her wedding day.
on learning that your company had not paid one single cent to secure the villa for 20 people,the wedding venue,the day after party,the cakes,the flowers,the photographers,the list goes on. Her guests were scattered far and wide not together how she had anticipated and planned,not to mention the expense they endured losing prepaid bookings and having to book more accommodation to be close to the renewed wedding plans and celebrations. made possible by beautiful guests and some amazing Balinese people.
You left 20 guests, including young children stranded in a lobby for four hours all in Limbo. Once again you’re incompetence led to the highest of days to being the lowest of lows. I hope by now you can start feeling the burden and heartache my daughter was carrying.. the disappointment , the disbelief the anguish.
I some how think not.
I was there for every bit of communication between the bride & groom, you had no answer and what Solutions you had were purely band aid none of which were remotely close to what my daughter had signed up and paid for.
The day they had worked and planed so hard for is GONE.
The disheartening fact is those memories will live etched in my daughter’s heart forever.
Witnessing my daughter’s heart being broken will remain in mine.
To add salt to injury Caroline you knew that there would be no Bali wedding for my daughters, 9 days before her wedding party and guests flew out of Australia bound for Bali, which proves you have no conscience and absolutely zero empathy.Blinded obviously by GREED

*DO NOT SIGN UP WITH BOTANICA WEDDINGS*Botanica Weddings took my money, spent it...but not on my wedding. Sadly, there are multiple couples affected with hundreds of thousands of dollars unaccounted for. Some weddings were cancelled the morning of! Google the Bali Wedding Association statement. Missing client funds, mass firing of staff that attempted to speak up, staff allege they are owed wages, vendors are owed money, venues not being secured due to lack of payment.The CEO has no remorse. She will not issue me a refund despite not being able to deliver any of the promised services and breaching Australian Consumer Law. Save your money and use a reputable planning company.
⚠️ WARNING TO FUTURE BRIDES ⚠️If you’re considering booking with Botanica Weddings, DONT DO IT. My experience with them has been extremely distressing and unprofessional. I found out 3 weeks prior to our wedding, from my venue (not from Botanica) that my wedding was cancelled because Botanica hadn’t paid the invoices.I’ve since learned that staff haven’t been paid and that inexperienced planners are being assigned to weddings. The stress this has caused is unimaginable.If you are currently a Botanica bride, I strongly suggest taking action now and look into your options for a refund and start fresh with another company.Brides deserve honesty, transparency, and professionalism. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive that from Botanica Weddings.I also know I’m not the only one, in fact I was lucky compared to some brides. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

I used BW to plan my Wedding at Ayodya resort in Bali 9/25/25 and had an horrible experience. I would not recommend them to anyone, and I would highly discourage anyone from using this company. There are so many other options- I would recommend working directly with Ayoyda resort (they are amazing!) or Bali Hai (also amazing!) we had great experiences with both companies and wished we would have used them for our wedding service. Unfortunately, BWs sales tactics hooked us in and had us sign a non refundable contract. Their planners are not in Bali and they don’t actually plan anything. The planners were constantly late or no showed to meetings, when they did show up they were there for support, but did not actually plan anything for the wedding. They overpromise, underdeliver and then blame you or other vendors for their mistakes. A few examples of their issues:-No food for people with dietary restrictions even when given the information way in advance -everything our planner confirmed was not coordinated with vendors: no car at the airport, the gifts for our welcome bags were not ordered on time, the appointments we requested for the week were not booked, and the venue wasn’t even aware of our wedding until the day before the event. I’m happy to give more details on the horrendous service, but don’t just take my word for it. I’m in a group with 8 other couples who used them and also agree their service & experience is HORRIBLE. We have a dedicated page on facebook for complaints about BW because of how poorly we were mislead. We are looking into a class action since they refuse to compensate us. Trust me, do not ignore this review. Do not work with them.

When services are not delivered after payment, the financial and emotional consequences are significant.Before transferring any funds, couples should conduct thorough due diligence, request verifiable evidence of recently delivered weddings, ensure contracts contain clear protections, and consider using payment methods that provide recourse.This review is intended as a serious consumer warning. Anyone considering this company should carefully assess the potential risk before proceeding.
DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY. Unfortunately had to cancel the wedding due to unforseen circumstances. The wedding was paid in full as encouraged by them. The wedding was 14 months away and they have kept 50% of the FULL amount!!! WHAT A SCAM. Now they do not respond to any form of contact. Completely unethical and badly worded contract that is confidential!! As an Australian Company they are under ACCC rulings so we are pursuing them through that avenue. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Terrible company, Canceled our reservation a year in advance after paying installments already, they charged our card on file over 6 months later. Do not deal with this company. I gave them the opportunity (when it was still pending) to undo the charge before it posted. If you run into issues with this company, be sure to leave reviews and file with BBB and trade commission so other people don't fall into this trap!
Please find our review of Botanica Weddings & The Ungasan Clifftop Resort....this is the final email we shared with them both post our wedding in which we booked out the entire resort for 53 guests over the weekend. In conclusion, be careful with the initial sales engagement and make sure you don't miss anything at the beginning as they have a tendency to overcharge on options/inclusions later, most of which are purposefully missed from the beginning. Hello to everyone at Botanica and the Ungasan, I trust this email finds you all very well. Kelsey and I would like to start by thanking everyone involved, we got there in the end despite some major obstacles and challenges…to be honest, the beginning was indeed a rough ride.To Caitlin our wedding planner…we sincerely thank you for stepping in to fill in from the other two failed Botanica wedding planners. Your service and professionalism were commendable, as you made every effort to make sure that our preparation and final wedding day was delivered as efficiently and smoothly as possible. We know that it wasn’t easy cleaning up behind what was clearly a very muddy and over promised sales engagement, that failed to set clear expectations. I’m still shocked that not once did we receive an email or call from management to provide support or to reach out to Kelsey and I when it was needed most, very unprofessional indeed. These indiscretions placed a huge amount of stress on everyone that was involved, and I have to say that even though the final day was a success, the damage was already done in our eyes with Botanica, making it impossible for Kelsey and me to give your company a positive review.To Brett our MC who was also a coordinator and deeply involved on the day, thank you mate, you were fantastic, we truly appreciate everything that you did. Thank you to Gareth also for professionally delivering my liturgy even though you mispronounced our surname multiple times. Some feedback on items such as the Spin Booth, which was nothing as expected and experienced at other weddings. It was spun way to fast by the operator making it impossible to pose for photos. More importantly, the camera is supposed to spin consistently around the platform and not the platform. I presume and expect very little usable footage and the feedback from all guests was very negative.DJ Rob, thank you for playing the tunes on the day and night, however you do realise that you incorrectly played the brides song for the bridesmaids, not sure how that happened. With respect Botanica & DJ Rob…this is not acceptable.A special mention to Terralogical who were amazing, thank you for everything and we can’t wait to see the rest of the photos as the preliminary sample photos provided were incredible.I’m sure there were many other staff in the background that contributed to making our day a success, apologies for not mentioning everyone as it was quiet an overwhelming moment for Kelsey and me to recall everyone’s names…but thank you again.Ungasan…what can we say, fantastic resort, service, food was sensational, villas and rooms opulent your resort was fabulous, grounds meticulously maintained and your staff extremely accommodating and very courteous so thank you very much for hosing our wedding. Please remember to tell your guests next time that check in is at 3pm and don’t arrange transport for 50 people to be arrive so early. Also, it would have been nice to see you step out of your office Brenden to support Gede when he had to manage this miscommunication with myself and other guests. We were forced to sit around for 5 hours and to dig through our suitcase for swimwear, not ideal. A free drink and some acknowledgement of the oversight from management would have mitigated this situation. Of course, on top of that, the brides and grooms’ room were the last to be ready. I hope you take our very open feedback on board, it’s not meant as criticism as we genuinely trust that it will help you improve your wedding services in the future. Kelsey & Sasha Stepanovic
There are safer options for you out there.Long story short, Covid halted our wedding in its tracks and Botanica have handled the situation as poorly as a company could have. They are incompetent and pose significant risk for your special day, look elsewhere. We were regretfully forced to cancel our wedding in Bali that we had booked through Botanica because of the virus. Admittedly, we signed paperwork confirming the details of cancellations and release costs, but this was before Covid even existed and the subsequent uncertainty around travel restrictions/safety/etc. Obviously, there was nothing in the contract about a global pandemic.The event we were forced to cancel (at the time of our notification) was over 12 months away. The only money spent from our deposit to Botanica was for the booking of the venue. We requested, at Botanica's discretion and given the circumstances, the balance of the deposit be returned to us because we were unable to plan the wedding in any capacity. Not the whole amount, just the portion that was still in Botanica's account. It seemed like a fair request given the length of time to the wedding and the fact that we weren't asking for money back they had no control over.Botanica not only refused to return the money, they THREATENED US WITH LITIGATION if we were to voice our situation online. Scary way to treat customers. Save yourself the heartache
