I purchased my BrainTap from an authorized reseller/pratitioner (Brad S.), and have so far over the last 3 weeks been using it 2-3 times a day as prescribed with the program my practitioner has setup for me based on my goals/desires for a better me.
I’ve been seeing huge changes in my stress, anxiety, and overall mental wellbeing. I’ve also noticed myself becoming slightly wittier and having snappier (I’ve now got jokes I’ve been told by a few of my colleagues!) responses in conversations than I used to.

Think about it; if their product actually worked, they wouldn’t be ripping people off with this unethical tactic. I purchased the BrainTap device and subscription since 2023. I’m not sure that it actually did anything for me but I gave it a solid try and paid them hundreds. I forgot to cancel before my renewal this year. When it was charged to my credit card I immediately contacted BrainTap to cancel and they refused to refund my money although I have not used the services in months and the subscription just renewed. I am facing financial hardship of no job and no income and $70,000 of debt and they still refused to refund my $130 for a subscription that starts now and lasts for 1 year.
I bought the system because I have I am a light sleeper and having very little (if any) REM sleep. They claim that the use of Braintap should detox the brain in the same way as REM sleep which was what make me very interested in their product. I also had a similar device in the 1990s that was much less advanced but the principle was the same. In the beginning I was very excited because I found that the same amount of daytime rest was much more effective when I use the Braintap while resting. But the china plastic smell of the headphones was so strong so I nearly got a headache. I also think their subscription model is just way too expensive even if it worked well. I am a Christian and I also don't like the stupid new age style of the sessions. I end up listening to the ones without any talk because that worked better for me. Later on it went terrible. When I used it, I felt the risk of forgetting to breathe. The relaxing effect was so strong. I was gasping for air several times in a 20 minutes session and in the end I could not relax at all when I used it because of the anxiety for not being able to breathe.I am not using it anymore.
Brain tap does not stand behind their products. I was at the Biohackers world expo in Miami 11/1-2/2025 Brain tap had a booth. My business partner and I tried the product on 11/2/25 we liked the device. We bought two for our clinic Biohack Wellness Medical Clinic. We returned home late Sunday 11/2. 11/3 I plugged my Brain tap in to fully charge. I read the instructions. I used the download to listen to my first meditation series. The visors lights were not working. I went to the website to the help/support section and went through all the steps to troubleshoot this issue. The lights never worked I was sold a defective device. The lights are supposed to work that’s part of Brain tap technology. I tried two more meditations to listen to. The visors lights did not work. On the third download, I heard a pop and the light flashed and then the lights from the ear pieces were no longer working. I sent an email to support on Tuesday. I waited a day and never heard back from them. I called them on Wednesday morning and I spoke to someone. She only offered to have the device returned at my cost and they were going to try to repair it. I was not satisfied with that. I have made two more phone calls to CS and three emails to support and they are not willing to stand by their product. I own two companies and I provide the best level of customer service. If I were Brain tap, I would’ve immediately paid to have the device returned and shipped a brand new one. Especially at this price point $800. I will not recommend this product to anyone just for their customer service.
I’ve been debating whether or not to write this review, but as a small business owner, I believe honest feedback helps companies grow.I joined the BrainTap family about two years ago. At first, I was a bit skeptical because the headset is expensive, but when my husband tried it, it was amazing — his stress melted away in less than 40 minutes. I was impressed, and we decided to keep it.After some time, the headset suddenly stopped working. I was frustrated but didn’t contact support right away — a few days later, it started working again. We continued using it occasionally, always with great care (we’re two adults, no kids, and we value what we buy).Recently, the same issue happened again, but this time it never turned back on. When I contacted customer service, they said: “I’m sorry, there’s nothing we can do.” They only offered a paid replacement for almost $500.For a device this costly, that doesn’t feel fair. Things shouldn’t just stop working “out of nowhere” if they’re made with true quality. I asked if this had happened before, and they said no.So I’m writing this to share my honest experience. The app itself is wonderful and truly beneficial, but the headset quality and warranty policy don’t match the price.I hope BrainTap takes this feedback seriously — because the concept is incredible, and it deserves better support for loyal customers. For now, I’ll keep using my regular headphones for meditation and relaxation.
I loved using brain tap. After surgery and I was in a lot of pain I tried putting it on with one hand and broke the visor. The piece would of been cheap and easy to replace. Since I did not buy the unit from them, they would not support there product nor would they provide the piece that was broken to purchase. I forgot to cancel the subscription Today they charged me $260.00 for the next subscription and would not reimburse me. I have a broken unit and I paid for a useless subscription for a year. If you think the customer service left a good taste in my mouth, think again. Customer service and taking care of there customer is low on the list. They just want a lot of money for a cheap product that they don't really support themselves
This product is junk. Paid $600 for the headphones, and the first pair lasted less than 8 months. They honored the warranty and replaced them, but the replacement lasted only 5 months. I contacted them (still within the warranty) and they gave me a hard time. They took it, claimed they “fixed” it, and sent it back—still dead. This is how they treat customers: lie, send back a broken product, and call it fixed.
The customer service for Braintap is horrible. I spoke to Carla about getting receipts for an appointment I have with Social Security. At first she told me she would email the receipts to me in 30 minutes. This did not happen. The next day I called Braintap again and explained the situation to another agent who asked me who I spoke to I said I did not recall her name she looked up her name and it was Carla. She put me back in touch with Carla.I explained the situation to Carla again and I decided to see if Braintap would get the files on one or two files instead of 16 files. So she escalated it and told me I would have a response in 2-3 days. 2-3 days passed no response. I called again and low and behold I get Carla. Accounting gave a response it was late but the response sat there for two days more and nobody called me.This is not the first or second time that I have had poor service with Braintap. This is the Braintap customer service way and status quo.
