Brewers Fayre Minehead – Visit 25th February 2026
We visited on 25th February 2026 and ordered two meals from the meal deal menu, which, at £5 each, initially appeared to be good value.
However, the experience was completely overshadowed by what can only be described as an appalling starter. My brother, who is currently recovering from a recent stroke and heart attack and therefore cannot manage a large meal, ordered the *Crispy Prawns served with sweet chilli mayo* (£5.99). What was presented to us was frankly disgraceful. The prawns were in a shocking state — poorly cooked, unappetising in appearance, and utterly unacceptable to serve to any customer.
There is simply no excuse for food leaving a kitchen in that condition. It was, without exaggeration, dreadful.
When we raised the issue with staff, their response was dismissive and indifferent. There was no genuine concern, no apology of any substance, and certainly no effort made to rectify the situation in a satisfactory manner.
To make matters worse, the premises themselves were scruffy both inside and out, with litter visible around the property. The overall impression was one of neglect and a clear lack of care for customers or standards.
This visit was deeply disappointing, and based on this experience, we will not be returning.
We were at the brewers last night a party of 20 people to celebrate my nephew's 40th birthday who is disabled. We spent around £400 having starters, main course , dessert and plenty of drinks.we were there for just under 3 hours and a waiter short fella with glasses on the tubby came to our table and said we would be fined £100 if we stay over 3 hours. How rude after spending all that money I get if we was sitting there for over an hour were nothing was spent but people in our part were buying drinks ,desserts I have never heard of such a rule but if so if people are spending that much money and still spending how do you tell them to leave if not you will be fined £100. The only saving grace and the reason for me not giving a score of 1 star is because of a waiter call ash he went above and beyond for our party
Taking shelter from the rain at a cozy spot. The warm atmosphere, decorated for the holidays, and a £6 lunch menu made the experience delightful. Greeted at the door, we were seated promptly. The staff was busy yet attentive, and the meal of fish, chips, peas, and an ice cream sundae was exactly what we needed.
Had a Sunday carvery and found some issues with the meal. The vegetables were not cooked properly, and my wife had to wait for potatoes that were stuck to the pan. My grandson's burger didn't match the menu description, and the bread roll was hard. The staff didn’t acknowledge our concerns when we raised them.
Ordered two three-course kids' meals but was told the children couldn't have the desserts included in the festive menu I paid for. The kids left upset, and the manager's aggressive demeanor was disappointing, especially over something so minor.
During a visit, I faced an unpleasant experience with a staff member. When I inquired about a coffee machine, the response was sarcastic, and I was told to leave for expressing my frustration. As someone with retail experience, I recognize what constitutes rude behavior.
Had a very disappointing experience with the food. We waited a long time only for my child's burger to arrive without the patty, and when it finally came, it was burnt. The staff's lack of acknowledgment was frustrating, and we will not return.
