First: don’t buy bows for target at Cabela. Cabela sends stuff for margin and they don’t care what is happening after the sale. Between Cabela and the parent who buys a compound bow that draws 50-70 lbs for a 14-year old with 0 experience in archery, the responsibility falls on the coach. Cabela doesn’t care if that child breaks a muscle or a joint because of their indifference. Shame!

Disappointing service experience

Our local store handled our rifle without our request; we simply wanted it sighted. The management dismissed our concerns, and the staff were shockingly rude. As a business owner myself, I found their behavior unacceptable. I will be canceling my account with the company and urge others to consider doing the same. This corporate chain lacks genuine customer service; we are treated as mere transactions now. I will not be returning to shop with them. It's better to support other businesses.

Poor service and terrible customer support

Frustrating application process

I applied at a local store and went through several interviews, including a final one with management. My application status always showed as in process. I reached out to their recruiter, who mentioned that a decision hadn't been made yet but gave positive feedback. After waiting four weeks, I received an email stating I didn't get the job. I was disappointed and upset. They should have communicated this sooner instead of leading me to expect a positive outcome. It feels like the company does not value its applicants.

Extremely dissatisfied with the order

I would rate this experience negatively if possible. I ordered an air rifle as a Christmas gift for my grandson, along with a target set and extra pellets. Instead, I received a completely different air rifle that doesn't even accept the magazine I ordered. I contacted the store immediately, without even opening the box, and explained the mistake. They outright refused to help me in any way. It was just a flat no, despite the confusion over the order. I now have a rifle that is not what I wanted and a useless magazine.

Package mishandling issue

My package was left in a snow bank at the end of my freshly plowed driveway, about 3/4 of a mile from my house. It wasn't even in a box, just in its original packaging. This was a very expensive crossbow, a Christmas gift for my son, who found it when he got home, ruining the surprise. Who leaves a package where garbage goes? I’m disgusted with this order; the box was wet and slightly damaged, but since he saw it, there's no going back now.

Lost orders after website transition

After the website transition, all of my previous orders are now gone. This is absolutely ridiculous. I've led similar system changes, and it would have taken minimal effort and cost to transfer orders to the new site. It's just insane!

Decline in quality since acquisition

Since the acquisition, the quality has declined significantly. There are fewer products available, such as scope rings, and the stock is low. Many of the salespeople I encountered seemed unhappy, and the prices are nothing special.

Unpleasant shopping experience

I recently visited a local gun store, and the sales representative seemed more interested in offering a credit card to save money than assisting with my needs. When my brother and I expressed interest, they took our information but then claimed the machine wasn't working. We ended up not getting the discount, and I later received a letter stating I wasn't approved. This feels like a scam.
