Cake ordered for a big birthday, well in advance and paid for selected delivery date ahead of the birthday…….. apparently they are their rules so we followed them!
Well, no cake arrived until 3 days after the delivery date, we had to buy a second cake from a supermarket.
So….. the cake arrived 3 days late, it was broken, had slipped off the base, decoration had fallen off and totally inedible.
Email after email and promises of refunds, nothing has materialised. 3 weeks gone by and they are still ignoring emails and have not fulfilled their word!
Do not entrust your special occasion to them! Would never never recommend them to anyone, ever! They are not able to meet the claims they make on their website.
Reflecting on the numerous other reviews, it’s evident that this service lacks genuine care and professionalism, as they fail to respond to feedback. We ordered a cake for a special 18th birthday, but every birthday deserves attention, and the cake's poor condition ruined the entire celebration. While the taste was acceptable, its appearance was unacceptable for a premium order. The service's refusal to address refund requests and their unfulfilled promises of discounts only adds to the frustration. Given the pattern of complaints, it’s clear that the company needs to urgently address the issue of delivering damaged cakes for special occasions. I plan to share this experience across various social media platforms to warn others about the subpar service.
I’m extremely disappointed with Caker Street. The cake delivered looked nothing like what was shown on their website. The images are highly misleading, and what I received felt like a completely different product. It honestly seems like false advertising.
To make matters worse, when I raised a complaint, the customer service was extremely poor. There was no accountability, no genuine attempt to resolve the issue, and the response felt dismissive rather than helpful.
The taste was equally disappointing. The cake was dry and overloaded with icing, which completely ruined the experience. It is not worth the £70+ spent on this order. It felt like the icing was used to cover up the lack of quality in the cake itself.
Overall, this was a waste of money and a frustrating experience. I would not recommend Caker Street to anyone looking for quality, honesty, or decent customer service.
I had ordered a 'Large 1st Birthday Cake' for £153 for my daughter’s first birthday, but what arrived was entirely unacceptable. This was not a proper cake. It was misshapen, excessively greasy, and primarily composed of icing and buttercream with hardly any sponge. When it was cut during the celebration, the interior collapsed into an unappetizing mess in front of family and guests. It was both embarrassing and deeply disappointing for what should have been a memorable occasion. The product was described as a vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream filling, but what we received looked nothing like that. There was no discernible sponge structure, just thick icing and crumbling bits. It was visually unappealing, structurally unstable, and completely inedible. The entire cake had to be discarded. For a cake priced over £150, this is far below any reasonable expectation of quality, presentation, or value. Photos and videos of the cake clearly indicate that this was not due to mishandling or transport, but rather a fundamentally flawed product. I have already reached out to the company via email and messaging but have yet to receive a response. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to think twice before placing an order, especially for a significant event.
Everything went wrong! I ordered four birthday cakes a month ago and reached out again three days before the party to confirm the delivery. I was assured everything was fine. However, on the day of the event, only one cake was delivered. When I called, I was informed that the rest were still at the shop! They promised to send them in a cab. By 1 PM, we called again, and they hadn't even dispatched it yet, claiming it would be sent 40 minutes later. The party started at 3 PM, but the cakes arrived at 3:30 PM. It was an incredibly stressful day because of this.
Completely ruined my daughter's 18th birthday celebration by informing me on the day the cake was meant to be delivered that it had been damaged. There was no alternative offered, and I only found out because I kept reaching out to inquire about its status. Then, they mentioned they would provide a full refund as a supposed gesture of goodwill, but that’s just my right. I strongly advise against using this service if you want to avoid disappointment.
Unfortunately, the cake was delivered on time but was improperly packed in the carry box, causing it to slide off its base and damaging much of the celebratory message. Several decorations were ruined, and one corner was smashed. My advice to anyone considering spending a significant amount on a cake is to look for a small local independent baker instead!
