Review Time
Requested quote for some work at the end of November and was asked to provide pictures which I did and was then told a quote would be sent over. Nothing arrived so I waited until after the Christmas and new year break to follow up. Emailed and left voicemail but no response so now talking to alternative supply.
It was a very long wait between first contact and final installation, but I am very happy with the final installation. Superb electricians managed to hide all cables, making for a very neat job. Delighted with that and the overall 7.8 kWp all-black system.
I've completed the initial consultation Form on 18th of July 2022 as well as self survey form with pictures on 23rd of July. Then three months of exchanging emails about detailed roof measurements I didn't have only to finally get booked for their engineer to survey the property in October. He did couple of pictures and informed me that I should get an estimation within 2-3 weeks. A month later in November I've been told that the engineer doing survey got COVID and didn't pass paperwork to anyone. Sadly he either left the company or probably passed away as we have now April 2023 and I still haven't received anything.EDIT: I've updated details you've asked for.
Spent an age filling out their online form including photographs and taking specific angles of the roof and measurements of the roof etc. Waited nearly 2 months for them to get back to me and have been ignored.I guess our custom wasn't good enough for them.Oh well. I've gone with another (Market leading) supplier who called back within five minutes and arranged for a salesman to turn up 3 days after the initial online inquiry.If Cambridge Solar don't even bother contacting potential customers who fill out their questionnaires I dread to think what their actual service is like.
Just don’t waste your time. I spent a decent amount of time answering Cambridge Solar’s many questionnaires and adding all requested photos, then got a confirmation they’d received it all and they never bothered to get back to me. That was over 6 weeks ago now. I guess they’re just too busy to even care enough to reply. You can learn a lot about how companies treat their customers when they aren’t short on business and Cambridge Solar has just demonstrated they couldn’t care less. Time to look elsewhere.
I've had our solar panels in for just over 5 years now and contracted with Cambridge Solar. I remember at the time being taken through what was involved and the likely calculated electricity that would be generated year on year and the savings made. 5 years on we are happy, they have delivered in line with our expectations. Cambridge Solar are a local company and seem to have that local approach to good customer service. In the 5 years we've had them I can only remember needing to reach out once or twice on queries and been very good to respond. The app that comes with the panels is also a great way to track the usage too.
