Holts lodge is appauling it's literally the back of bungalow a muddy track not well maintained at all old farm machinery just thrown in the hedges a couple of pitches that are obviously taken by long stay campers a pitch that was marked with our name on was water logged and very small definitely not worth 25 pounds a night i would definitely not bother owner very rude all I said on the phone call was the truth and I was told I was RUDE !! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Where to begin about the online booking? Some of us tent people like winter camping, if possible with the added luxury of a hookup and the club has a few all year sites so I tried three online. Apparently while Tavistock has electric for all units from Christmas to the end of March, only when the booking date moves into April does the hookup option appear at all for tents. Are they afraid tenters will likely plug in electric fires? I tried Canterbury. No good there. Throughout January and February you can only get a hardstanding and jumbo hardstanding because all the others are either sold out (really?) or, in the case of grass pitches, don't appear at all. So I tried Chertsey. Despite my input being bog standard I kept getting the message that no pitches met my criteria, apparently because 'If you still stumble upon this message, it means our campsite is bursting with happy campers on your chosen date.' Wow, I thought, in February as well. What hardy people, and the club must really be raking it in at that one. I was tempted to see just how many ridiculous combinations I could get but gave up instead. I'll book somewhere else. Who designed the program for this site? A reject from ToysRus?
Discriminated against for being disabledComplained about this and whitnessing sexual commentsThere reply no further action and as i posted this on social media my membership suspendedThe only good thing they have done for me saved me money
Very sad times All but one of the Great team at Hertford are leaving this week .Some of them have been here for two years and some only this year . They are a happy bunch , very welcoming and helpful . always hard at work but always have time to help customers in any way they can. They will be greatly missed. The club have missed a trick here . If it aint broke dont fix it . The site has run so well the the last two years it has been a pleasure to stay here .I am not alone in this opinion. if only this club could get managers even half as good as the teams it would be a far better thing . Good luck to all the team where ever they send you - It would have been five stars but for the managers over the last 2 years
If I could give zero stars I would. Joined in August and have been unable to find any sites we can book via the SiteSeeker app - utterly rubbish archaic design, no filters etc - or via telephone, since when I have called the 'systems have been down'. I believe I was told I had 80 days to cancel, I am a week over the apparent 8 weeks cancellation period and they are quibbling a refund. Have cancelled my membership as it is utterly pointless and will persist with pursuing a refund since we have gained absolutely nothing from this useless subscription. The site is appalling, the app is worse, the customer services pass you onto someone else and systems for cancellation and refund are overly complicated. I have used other, free, online sites to book time away in our van without issue. As it is, the C&CC is light years behind and have the audacity to charge for what amounts to no benefit at all. I'd advise you avoid and use other apps and sites out there that provide far, far superior experiences. Not at all surprised that 66% of reviews here are 1 star.
So the good news is that CCC sites tend to be quiet, its members only, so the sorts of folks that camp once a year and spend it getting drunk and keeping the site awake tend not to be there. The bad news is that the app or website are both light years behind. You can book a club site online, but that is the minority of sites. The smaller owned CL sites you need to phone. You cant search on the app for facilities or availability of a CL. You often leave a voicemail and if and when they call you back it may be to say they are full. Fine if you are just heading away for a weekend, but poor otherwise - technology has been around for a long time to avoid this. Look at the key websites like pitch up campsites - they all have this functionality, so why don't CCC?Also the listings, Half the CL sites have either no pictures or just one vague picture. Many dont have anything telling you about the site, you just see the boxes they ticked in terms of facilities, this was probably great back in the day of dial up internet, but now we have Broadband and 5g, why are they not encouraged to give better info - its just poor. This is our first year with our campervan, we wont be renewing our membership
had membership this year . used about 10 sites found them to be too much like a military site , regimented and processed . didnt find the staff friendly . prices were too high unless using grass only discount .and why do all the sites cut the grass until its almost dead? and spend hours doing so? sites are also too full of old busted people (seems the club is just for them) so no excitement or life to be foundAlso people showing off their expensive 70 grand motor homes having spend the kids inheritance
Booked a site at Ravenglass for 2 nights on the Monday to stay the following sat and sun paid £25 deposit by Thurs I fell ill with covid realising I was too unwell I rang caravan and camping club to see if I could transfer the date from 6th to 26th Oct but was told I couldn't and wouldn't refund my deposit which is fair enough but I can't see why they couldn't move the date is not as if I was cancelling it all together robbers dogs!!!
