Still here booked on line as you do wasn’t easy not for us but them 2 Adults 1 awning 1 Dog both pensioners, showed us the discounts we were getting and paid a deposit and told us what was outstanding that was great until day two into the holiday going in paying what we owed they had us down for one person and a dog well we always travel together so that was without discount then in the morning they had taken even more out of are account never even emailed us about it .So we went to the site office to be told they don’t charge the final price the offices do so we was charge a extra £80 they told us they don’t give discounts in peak season and it doesn’t tell you online rip off looks like we aren’t coming here again
Don't renew! Discounts have stopped?!!..you will now pay top to dollar to camp!!!..you can get a refund if you renewed within a certain time,I renewed, and paid the £ 58,I can't get a refund ...not happy, but have to accept I have lost that money!!..DONT RENEW!!!
Military camp. What rubbish! A campsite must have some rules. Would you want to stay on a site with no rules. I’ve been a member for many years and still find the C&CC, by far the best value for money especially if over 60. With the age concession. Private site charges and the MHC are far more expensive.
both myself and my partner decided to join the club as we were new to caravanning and we found the club was good at the start, we aimed to stay on various sites thoughout the UK with them with it being roughly 1 stay per month as a long weekend normally. we arrived at the first site (bellingham) to be met with lovely staff and they couldnt have been more welcoming and showed us to our pitch and explained the best way to set out our windbreaks for our dogs etc which was lovely, these staff are a credit to the club. We then went to another site where we were put in the corner on a hardstanding pitch which we said wasnt any good for us as we needed to set up wind breaks so asked if we could go for a pitch near the centre of the site with grass so we could get an area as per our booking notes for the dogs which seemed to be a lot of effort but we got a pitch change. Whilst on this site we seemed to feel like we were being judged all the time when we were in the caravan due to us having an older caravan and all the units around us were around 12 - 18 month old motor homes so didnt feel to comfortable on this site on an evening and felt we had to keep ourselves to ourselves. The final straw was when we went on our 3rd trip where we just wanted to get away and have a break away from home after loosing out 11 year old dog that week suddenly. When we arrived the first thing from the staff on site was "we hope your dogs are quiet" as our dogs bark whe in the company truck whilst parked up and we are away from the truck. But they are quiet once out and settled. however whilst setting up one of our dogs snapped their metal clip on their lead which was attached to a ground anchor to run over to say hello to another dog which we went straight over to and got our dog back and re attached them to a new lead to the ground anchor and appologised to the owner and the staff on site at this point came over on their bikes and said "young man we have a complaint" which was rather demeaning terminology used against myself as im in my late 20's they assume they can talk down at us. the other persons dog was all fine and it was all settled. however the following morning we were asked to leave site imediatley due to the head office having reports of the "dog attack" and we were to leave with imediate effect. both myself and my partner are now banned for life from joining the club due to this incident been blown out of preportion. if our dog had "attacked" we can assure you that other persons dog would have been almost dead and would have certainly needed an urgent visit to the vets from the way we were advised by customer services about the incident.Due to the way the incident was over exagerated we were in touch with customer services as they needed a report about the incident and they have since refunded us our memebership fee. However if your a young couple who doesnt have the latest model caravan, tiny tea cup dog that is the most well trained dog in the world (ideally no dog) and a brand spanking new car dont feel welcome at "the friendly club" as we most certainly dont feel welcome in any way shape or form. so if you have a large dog, a slightly older caravan and a company pickup truck for towing dont even bother joining the club as they will find a way to push you out in one way or another. we are certainly never joining either of the 2 clubs now for the rest of our life as they keep contradicting their site rules thoughout all the customer services contact emails we will just stick to independant sites from now on. we now know why the touring cravan holiday industry doesnt have many younger couples in them as they all like you to be retired and have the latest car and caravan or motorhome otherwise it is effort for them to serve you. we are seriously concidering selling up since this incident as we feel out of place with regards to the last 2 trips we have had with the club as we dont feel we fit in the "click" of the clubs as we are hard working young individuals with dogs who are our family, but they expect you to ditch the kids (dogs) to stay in the clubs.
I just joined this year and have just bought my first little Go Pod towing caravan and I've been trying to book a short 3 day weekend in April and one in June in one of their Scottish sites with zero success in any of them!!!! Very frustrated, wish I hadn't bothered joining now 😞
Whilst I am a member of said club, be aware if you are disabled, or over weight. The caravan club offer insurance, BUT!!They insist you fit a certain wheel clamp. All the clamps demand you get on your knees to fit it.If you struggle getting on your knees and back up, ( disabled, overweight, wheelchair, amputee, knee replacement etc) go away.OR! Pay for a thatcham alarm, OR! Impound your van, OR ! Take out a less value policy.I was told directly, I had to fit these clamps, I stated I was disabled, and cannot fit one of these 3 designated clamps.Answer “we cannot insure you”How dare you, you discriminative pigs. This looks so bad on this club which endorses this discriminatory behaviour.I have spoken to the club, they acted surprised. So why are they using this lot of ignorance.
