We have just returned from a three week holiday in our caravan. The first week we stay at the club site at winchcombe, then we moved down to the club situation Bude.We have thoughly enjoyed our time at both sites. The staff are wonderful at winchcombe and Bude nothing is too much trouble and the sites are kept beautifully clean and well maintained. We are looking forward to more visits next.Thank you all for making our holiday so enjoyable. Lynda & Geoff Bown.
We used to be very happy members of CCC and after a break with not having a motorhome we decided to get a caravan and join again. We bought our caravan, booked a lovely site and took our second hand but new to us caravan to site (oh there was no pro-rata price- we had to pay full term even though we were already into the season :/). Amazing managers and we felt welcome. After chatting with the managers it turns out that letting your shared owner (your son) use the caravan a couple of times a year is called "sub-letting". I understand sub-letting to be earning money from your asset but anyway. So I spoke to a gentleman in CCC to discuss that this was a misunderstanding but was told that we had 30 days PRIOR to moving on site where we could cancel. I explained that I work abroad and when arriving in country we decided and bought the caravan, booked the site and paid- usually you get 7 days at least as a cooling off period- especially when its full price for a seasonal site. But apparently not. There isn't much that I am aware of where you don't get a 7 day cooling off period. But after paying nearly £3000 we had to move the caravan off site without any of that money being returned. Very disappointed with what used to be an amazing and compassionate group/ company. We found another amazing site nearby who obviously allow that your own son can use the caravan every so often with rules.
Sandringham The Caravaning Club the 'friendly club' couldn't be further from the truth regarding staff reception.I came along for a visit, look around and to find out more information. To the staff on reception this seemed like an alien idea. They were less than fourth coming with everything eventually handing me a book, had to ask for prices. No print outs and told on wall pointing over to it. The gentleman on reception barely took himself off his keyboard for a second to then go back to it. The lady equally disinterested. I was a new customer looking for information. This is the second site with this same attitude I had visited that day and see similar issues noted with club sites on Trust Pilote. I spoke with the two people directly in a friendly manner before I left stating how poor I thought their welcome attitude was to someone new to caravaning.
It’s a real shame about the Braithwaite Caravan and Camping club site, it was previously a great site until the new manager, Darren’ took over. Pitches now given to his friends and family and genuine people seem to gets what’s left on gravel next to the toilet block on sewerage grates that stink of (well you can imagine). Absolutely disgusting!
I have just rung the club to cancel a booking at Norman's Bay because my wife was just about to go in for emergency abdominal surgery (life threatening).'Sosorry to hear that' I was told. Then she said 'do want to rebook or cancel'. Cancel I said. 'You will lose your deposit' she said.Really!?From a club that calls it self 'The Friendly Club'Surely they can do better than that.
I had to change a site booking at short notice due to the funeral of a dear friend. I spoke to Head Office and they couldn't have been more helpful. The transfer was done and the confirmation received in minutes. Thank you for living up to your description of the Friendly Club.
I have been a member of the CCC for 9 years. They used to great. Unfortunately in August had an appalling experience at Sandringham CCC site. I tried to communicate the issues to CCC customer services by phone and email. Their response was untrue, rude, disrespectful and arrogant. I have cancelled my subscription. Such a shame as they used to be great.
Just had a week at Holkham Hall in a tent ( our very first time of camping ) . The staff were so helpful & lovely & certainly went above & beyond . We wanted to extend our stay & they did all they could to help & we were successful thanks to them . The call we made to Angela was very pleasant & she was so helpful in booking us in for longer . Our stay was excellent in every way & we have a great memory forever of our first experience. Thank you all !!
The facilities were good and the site managers caring, (flood warnings etc)My main concern is the cost. Because it was August, school holidays the cost was hiked. We pensioners, termed veterans, lost our discount. Our party was 3 adults+ a child and cost £83 per night. Also electricity at £7.50 is extortionate. Chafing £5 a day to launch a boat is not right as there is no facilities and the club do not own the lake. Before the holiday I had a TIA and spent the first day of my holiday in hospital, it would have been “friendly” to have offered a refund but I was given the option of losing the holiday and losing my deposit. The club has become a money making machine and definitly not a friendly club FT Taylor
