Went to Wolverley Camping

Went to Wolverley Camping, by public transport, on foot - 99.99% go in their motorhome/jeep type vehicles (easy life). Bus driver drops me off at stop he knows for the site. No signs showing where to go, so with several bags (2 heavy) walk way back up slope/road, more pain for my bad feet/legs. Book six nights from 10/8/23.Return on second day see v. large tent facing with wagon opposite set up/tables across, chairs in between: noise of large group including two others from large tent to side of mine. Ask site why can't they have their tent/equipment facing other way - site says they can do what they want....yes, determine what/any my peace/quiet/sleep time. After 2 nights they left.Ground is hard/bobbly not much decent rest/sleep.Checked weather forecast over two days, decide to book 2 more nights. Then find on 2nd night forecast changed so due heavy rain from early morning. As no vehicle to pack things into would only all get wet and me! best to go after one night, ask site to credit for one night for following week, site refuses. Contact Caravanning Club which agrees with Site - must be all the millions they make every year. Supervisor refuses to speak to me. Also inform them about other campers set up facing mine, Club says wouldn't tell campers how to set up. Then informed them of review 06/23 left on Clent Hills campsite - "we were told where to pitch the tents and which way the tent opening had to face". Club has now deleted this entry. Toilet facilities clean. Only one table for having your food, next to lots of kids screaming theirheads off at playground.

Visited

Visited: The Leans, BodminSite should state visitors ‘NOT’ welcome. Visited family on site and owners were rude, arrogant and liars. No clear signage as to where visitors should park. Site entrance blocked by bollards. Owners seem to have a ‘chip on their shoulder’ about recent travellers on site and now everyone is treated with distain. Avoid!

Most ccc sites are great but on some…

Most ccc sites are great but on some campervans take priority.....it should be renamed caravaning & camping club ....as you are sometimes placed in dismal corner when in a tent ....I only use the sites as I get great discount being oap....but it can be like waking up at Watford gap services surrounded by white vans

Not enough sites shocking rules

Been a member for six months, only managed to book one site so far, everywhere is booked up well in advance. Too many members and not enough sites and then the sites are open to non members. Finally booked a site in Cornwall Bude, for a family friendly club there’s a lot of rules, no kites and no ball games absolute jokes, I wouldn’t waste your money use pithchup or something like that easier to book and your not stuck with membership

The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Extortionist Policies put members off !

My wife and I, both OAPs have been Club members for sometime and have enjoyed staying in lovely sites owned and run by the Club with decent discounts ! However, it’s policies leave a lot to be desired! We made a booking through the Club less than a week ago to stay in Graffham Caravan site for Thursday 20th July to stay with our two small dogs in our motor home with electric hook up and agreed to move it into a non electric pitch Friday 21st morning by 10 am as it was fully booked. Sole purpose was to attend my nephew’s 50th birthday who live with his wife and little girl in a small 2 bedroomed house in Haselmere, Surrey where there is simply no space to park our motor home. Unfortunately, we miscalculated that my nephew would have to come and pick us up in his VW Polo which has no room for the dogs! Therefore, we were obliged to cancel the booking today with the only alternative plan being to visit them in my wife’s Honda CRV. Club’s extortionist policies dictate the deposit of £48.67 is NON REFUNDABLE! Under the Trade Description Act, customers can return goods in the original condition provided one keeps the receipt of purchase within 14 days for a full refund! We have decided not to renew our membership when it expires towards the end of the year!

Never get on anywhere

This club is absolutely useless unless you are booking months in advance, last minute or weeks before you fancy an outing forget it,I joined up last year and have had the pleasure of one site in the lake District during winter, any other time I've not been able to get on,complete waste of money,I certainly won't be re joining

I had to cancel our booking because I…

I had to cancel our booking because I had shingles I was told that as it was outside the cancellation time I would loose my deposit ! I was told I could have a one time date transfer but I had to tell them within 24 hours .. sorry for contracting shingles but how can I foresee a end date !! I rebooked for about a month from the original date hoping that I’d be ok .. what we didn’t know was our caravan which we’d had for only 11months developed 4 faults and therefore is in the workshop .. luckily it’s all warranty work ! So I had to ring c and c to explain that we have no caravan and we don’t know how long it’s going to take to fix ! This was met by the same insensitivity as the first time .. I dont remember the C and C being so rigid and unhelpful .. I felt sorry for the staff on the other end of the phone who get the back lash from the customers .. where’s the friendly approach to customers issues gone ? I shall be cancelling our member ship !! We’ve been with the club for 13 years ..

We stayed at Cardigan bay site

We stayed at Cardigan bay site, really nice, clean and pleasant helpful staff and good sized pitches…They could do with extra signage as most people arriving for first time worry getting lost as road narrows with no extra visible directions.. I will certainly becoming back, really a lovely site…
