I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Carrot Insurance has been very disappointing.

Over the course of 12 months the driving record on this policy was impeccable, yet the overall experience felt like the business was actively looking for reasons to cancel rather than support the policyholder. Communication was frustrating and the process felt unnecessarily difficult at multiple points.

The biggest concern came at renewal. The premium for a 19-year-old dropped significantly (from around £2,600 to £700), which appeared positive initially. However, shortly afterwards the policy was cancelled at the first available opportunity. From a customer perspective, this gives the strong impression that competitive pricing is offered but not genuinely supported.

Young drivers are already paying extremely high premiums, so transparency and fair treatment are critical. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid Carrot Insurance at all costs and carefully consider alternative providers before proceedin

I am beyond disappointed and honestly shocked by how this insurance company treated me. They canceled my policy out of nowhere without any proper warning or clear explanation. One day I was covered, the next day I wasn’t. That is not just unprofessional — it’s irresponsible.

What makes it even worse is that they did not refund the remaining money I had already paid. Keeping a customer’s money after canceling their coverage is completely unacceptable. I trusted this company to provide security and reliability, and instead I was left stressed, confused, and financially impacted.

Customer service was no help either. I received vague answers, no accountability, and zero effort to resolve the situation. It felt like once they had my money, they no longer cared.

Can’t lie to you guys but all them negative comments are just fake or some one woke up on wrong side of the bed because I waited a month to see how is it tbh driving as a normal human being and not like Lewis Hamilton like most young drivers are u wont get cancelled for doing 2-3 mph over probably not even a warning only if u do excessive speeding and do it all time then yeah u will get cancelled because it’s illegal to be driving like that on roads , if you follow the Highway Code they won’t bother because I have did almost 600 miles in one month with score of 95 o think witch is really good proud of my self , just listen people don’t believe what ever you see on internet these people are bloody lovely and helpful I forgot most names but thanks to nas and Emma , because there was a road 60mph dual carriageway and tve black said it’s a 30 mph but I did 55 mph witch dident flag it up just check your journeys will help y a lot to improve and called them up said yeah that’s fine nothing to worry about , there’s can be quite bits and bobs but not all the time like I did a 20 it said I did a 32 called them up they deleted the event because they believed there customers just because they seen and and know how good I was driving and they will believe you if you do good , so all am going to say , Coustmer serivce is really good, good communication, good company to start from , and helps you a lot when needed

Carrot Insurance is alright but id say the customer service I had today was better than any other. I was having issues with carrot saying they are going to cancel my insurance cos of no charge on my blackbox however I charge it up and they still threaten me so I rang up and got help from a lovely lady today 4/2/26 around 1pm and she sorted all of this out for me so I hope she gets her credit not carrot!

Exceptional support regarding my insurance inquiries

I had several questions about my insurance and was contemplating canceling some aspects of my policy. A representative took nearly an hour to discuss my concerns, patiently addressing all my inquiries and providing truly helpful advice. Thanks to their clear explanations and considerate suggestions, I opted not to proceed with the cancellations, as the alternatives they proposed were significantly more advantageous for me. I genuinely valued their honesty, professionalism, and the time they invested in assisting me with my decision.

I took out a policy with the company in April. From the very next day, I received constant texts warning that my policy could be cancelled if I didn’t install the device, even before it arrived. Once it was installed, the device frequently fell off, inaccurately recorded incidents, and displayed incorrect speeds.
If I didn’t drive for 5–7 days, I was asked to send photos to prove it was still in place. This became problematic during my holiday when I couldn't respond, leading to repeated cancellation threats.
The device also stopped charging multiple times. I was advised by the company to remove it and charge it indoors, but then I received emails demanding its return. Despite being told to disregard those emails, they persisted.
In January, the device ceased functioning entirely and wouldn’t charge at all. Even though the company could see my journeys and had photos confirming it was installed and operational, I continued to receive emails stating my policy would be cancelled. Each time I called, I was transferred between departments and received conflicting information without any resolution.
Due to the ongoing stress and lack of assistance, I chose to cancel the policy myself. Although the cancellation agent was helpful, the company is still processing another month's payment and is only issuing a partial refund.
Overall, this experience has been incredibly frustrating and unjust.

Exceptional support from the representative

Today, we spoke with a representative who was outstanding. They clearly explained all policy details and frequently checked if we had any questions. The representative was friendly and made my son feel comfortable during his first car insurance policy. We used speakerphone, and they ensured we both heard everything clearly and conveyed information concisely. They efficiently addressed our query and guided us through the process. We would definitely recommend this service for their excellence.
