Review Time
I spent the Christmas period at a hotel in Eastbourne. The staff were professional, friendly, and accommodating, and the rooms were nice, spacious, and clean, with a pleasant view of the bandstand and sea from my side room. However, the food was so poor that I had to dine out on Boxing Day at an excellent Italian restaurant in the area. They should consider adding plugs near the mirror, as the hairdryer cords are too short. A new chef is definitely needed if they want to improve. I would rate it as a 3-star bed and breakfast. The staff are lovely, but unfortunately, the food was unacceptable! I hope they take my feedback seriously.
Ignore the other reviews. This place is fantastic and offers great value. The garden is beautiful and atmospheric, especially with the light show projected onto the house. Yes, the shops are a bit pricey, but just go, look, and enjoy. I had a wonderful and memorable time. Thank you to the amazing staff for all their efforts!

I visited yesterday and found the entire experience quite disappointing. The route through the house was very dark, and the main attractions were just Christmas trees. I paid a lot for this, and there were many stairs, causing several visitors to sit down to recover. The outdoor toilets were not clean at all. Overall, it was a really unpleasant experience that I won’t repeat.
The house was not impressive this year. The trees were beautiful, but the atmosphere was lacking, with very dark, empty rooms. It looked like many autumn decorations were still up. The music was quite depressing, making it feel like a haunted Christmas rather than a festive one. We visit every year, and this was the worst for house decor. Thankfully, the gardens were enjoyable. We won't be back; we'll try another stately home next year.
I visited to see the Christmas decorations today and was really let down. Upon arrival, the staff showed no Christmas spirit. I struggled to view my QR code and had to repeat the number several times. We asked about disabled parking and were told to just drive on. At the car park, the market was being taken down, and there was no disabled parking as promised. The tour inside was underwhelming, with just Christmas trees in every room and no festive atmosphere. I've seen more Christmas cheer in a local store. It's a shame because I love the grounds and plan to return in summer, but not for this.
The parking attendants were not helpful at all. Snacks and coffees were overpriced, and the Christmas House tour was quite disappointing. It was our first visit during Christmas, and we expected a bit of magic for the price we paid! The architecture of the house is lovely, but there was only a small area available for viewing, and the decorations lacked imagination. It felt like just a Christmas tree in each room. We won’t be returning.
Having visited in previous years, I found this experience increasingly disappointing. £30 for parking, £15 for a hot dog, and £6 for coffee—yes, £15 for chips! While you pay for the experience, it felt flat and not at all festive. It was more like a market with a big house next to it. I will not return. Shame on you for misleading visitors.
I had a delightful experience today. The team at the car park entrance was incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond for me due to my condition, assisting me to a warm area where I could sit and wait for my partner. It’s heartwarming to see such kindness in the world. Thank you to the lovely staff!
I paid £24 for ‘Christmas in the Garden’, and it was a complete waste of money. There were only a few trees with lights and a couple of lasers. Last year’s experience at another venue was amazing. I don’t understand how such a poor display is acceptable. My own garden looks more festive than this!
