If I could give negative stars I would. This bank does not conduct business under the federal laws.

If I could give negative stars I would. This bank does not conduct business under the federal laws. They intentionally opened an account in my name knowing it as fraud. I reported it to them to try to get in front of it and they gave me the run around for almost 10 days, back and forth to get know where. They told me an investigation will be done that will take 30 -90 days however they reported to Equifax as a "factual find", but they have yet to reach out as they are required to via phone, email, or mail that they concluded this investigation. If in fact they haven't concluded the investigation, they still are not operating in adherence of federal laws when fraud is reported to their institution as a fiduciary. They reported it as an actual find out of spite because I have called them everyday and everyday they lie, provide incorrect information but nothing they are supposed to provide their consumers when checking their credit and of the investigation findings. I filed an FTC report and am filing a police report, I intend to sue for negligence, mishandling of my personal information and lack of due diligence under the FCRA guidelines. Citibank has done nothing to rectify this situation and they gaslight you and make it seem as if it is your fault when you call, hence them reporting as an actual find before providing me a copy of said investigation. They reported the card as stolen, I never reported it stolen because I never had it to begin with and they closed the account. So yet again negligence and mishandling my personal information. I've missed work trying to fight this so I can call during their business hours to hopefully speak to an actual human that understands me. I have so many recorded phone calls between myself and the agents I have spoken to because I need to prove everything they said, how and when and who said it. Dates, times, notes. I'm diabetic and the amount of stress this has caused is truly outrageous, the impact is also documented and can be proved. I intend to move forward with all legalities that support my right as a consumer. I followed the steps and contacted them first to allow them the opportunity to respond as a financial institution who believes in the security of consumers should, they did not. In fact their behavior is appalling and not of one that represents an American bank that cares about it's American consumers. I am also reporting to CFPB. It's a shame I have to fight this hard to prove it was not me when they did nothing to prove in fact it was, they just reported that it was to Equifax AFTER I reported the fraud to all 3 bureaus and to them directly. They deliberately closed the account as a lost or stolen card when they knew it was fraud and then repoted to Equifax that the finding are true that I opened the card when they have no proof it was actually me. When I submit my docs to the bureaus with my signatures to prove I did not sign anything I'm going to fight tooth to nail to make sure they take accountability for their negligence of consumer information and mishandling of PII.

My 86 year old mother has a citi bank rewards card. She received a statement that she owed $78 and change and her bill was due on 2/23/26 . The statement read that she acquired a $29 late fee. Citi bank then started calling her leaving her messages about her bill. They harassed her into paying a bill ( that no where said $29 was due asap) They called about a late bill on 2/20/26 and the statement read it was due by the 23rd. So I called them. First they want your SS no# or the very long account no# before they will talk to you. Incredibly hard for me even to read off those no#s. Plus they out sourced their customer service to another country!

This credit card decreases your credit limit periodically and with no warning. So, you will have a large payment during to get back to being within your credit limit. Never use it for travel. I got stuck out of the country with the costo citi credit card so I wouldn't be using cash. They decreased my l8mit while I was on vacation.

Citibank is terrible. Their customer service is terrible. It is either robots or humans that keep saying the same thing over and over again. I was charged something and the merchant was supposed to credit my account. After contacting the merchant several times, I gave up on them and called to dispute the charge. Citibank said they couldn't dispute the charge and that I needed to contact the merchant. I explained this loop to their customer care and what did they say... you need to contact the merchant! It is a joke, they are a joke. I have found better banks and I know you can too.

I had a very disappointing experience with this bank. The customer service was unhelpful and slow, and my issue was not resolved even after multiple follow-ups. I faced unnecessary delays and lack of clear communication, which caused a lot of frustration. For a bank, this level of service is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this bank.

LACK OF SUPPORT FOR FRAUD PROTECTION CLAIMS

THE SERVICE DOES NOT HONOR ITS CLAIMS OF FRAUD PROTECTION OR ZERO LIABILITY FOR UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES! I have been a customer for over ten years. I authorized a payment of $500 to a company, but three weeks later, that charge vanished and I was billed $675 instead. The company even provided a document with my forged signature. Despite sending information and making multiple calls to the support team, I was told there was nothing they could do because the timeframe had expired. I have been trying to resolve this issue since October, and now it’s mid-January. I’ve called more than once a month to address this, only to be told the time has run out. THEY DO NOT PROTECT AGAINST FRAUDULENT CHARGES AS PROMISED ON THEIR WEBSITE AND IN ADVERTISEMENTS. I will not use this service again.

Extremely disappointing banking experience.

I have had the worst banking experience imaginable. My bank issued a check to settle my personal loan, but since November 20, 2025, the case has been stuck in 'under research' with no resolution in sight. The institution claims the funds are deposited into an unknown account, and I have yet to receive my refund. Customer service has been ineffective, providing no answers or accountability, and showing no urgency regarding my missing funds. For such a large institution, losing track of money and ignoring customers is unacceptable. This situation feels alarmingly close to fraud, and it seems they do not care at all. I recommend avoiding this service entirely.

Longtime member left in the lurch during a crisis!

As a member for nearly ten years, I felt abandoned when I really needed support! Working in higher education for the state, I had never sought assistance before, but when my hours were cut, the company refused to offer any accommodations. Another bank stepped up and helped me, so I plan to switch to them in the future. Once I settle my debts with this company, I will definitely not recommend them to anyone, especially fellow state employees.

STAY AWAY! Account closed unexpectedly.

STAY AWAY! I opened a checking account, and within a month, they decided to close it due to a supposed violation of their terms and conditions. I didn’t have time to change my direct deposit. I’ve been waiting over four months for my hard-earned money. Every time I call, they have no updates. This situation is utterly frustrating.
