The advisors were terrible

The advisors were terrible, unfriendly and completely useless to say the least. Especially the South African they are useless and shouldn’t be working the organisation because they give bad name to the organisation. Personally I will make sure never to buy a post office insurance ever.

Holiday curtailment

Thinking of buying travel insurance…

Thinking of buying travel insurance from Columbus/Collinson? Think again. They will do all they can to wriggle out of paying claims. They are the single worst insurance company I ever came across. Despicable people. I bought travel insurance. The list of inclusions on their website showed that cycling was included but mountain biking required an additional extreme sports coverage premium.On holiday I used an ebike. I used it on the road and in pushbike mode. It turns out their terms and conditions DO NOT match their website. Ebikes are excluded. You would only find this out after buying the policy. How is that fair? The comment below claims this was explicit on their website. It was not. The exclusion was hidden away in their terms. As a regulated company high standards of transparency should be expected. I am now taking this issue to the regulator to complain about them. They are trying to trick their customers. As I said despicable people, despicable company.I argued that an Ebike has two modes – pushbike and mechanical. The exclusion lists Ebikes and other mechanical bikes. So even though I was riding a pushback, because it has the potential to be ridden mechanically they have refused my claim. I noticed they add weasel words to every negative comment. My view – rather than spend money on an insurance policy with the Post Office and Collinson – go and burn your money or give it to charity. If you do want to have protection from a serious event on holiday – do more research than I did. Read customer reviews and buy insurance from an ethical provider who will not try to trick customers but have a clear website that lists the coverage and exclusions and has T’s and C’s that match and employs and incentivises their staff to treat customers fairly. Collinson/Columbus is not one of those companies. Avoid their insurance.

Clearly the worst travel insurance…

Clearly the worst travel insurance company I have ever had to deal with - travel insurance purchased all claim details provided and now there saying you have to contact somebody else.Therefore it is obvious these people don't provide travel insurance just charge for the policy and avoid dealing with any claims submitted.My advice is DON'T USE THESE PEOPLE

My travel insurance claim was made so easy. The company sent out forms they needed filled out. Once filled in I sent my forms back by post and was paid out within a few days
