Unfortunate illness for my wife resulted in a claim.She was hospitalised for a week then saw a Professor in Cardiology who advised not to fly.We submitted documentation but a doctors note was also required before the claim could be considered.Once this was done we thankfully received a full payout of our costs.We are really grateful and would always use the Post Office for our insurance in the future.
The worst insurance you can have. Do not go there at all. I missed my flight as the motor way was closed due to a fatal road accident. Almost a year later, and despite providing many documents and all the clear evidence available regarding the reason for the missing flight, I have not had a decision yet!!
Collinson underwrite Post Office insurance - have had PO insurance for the family for over 5 years..never a claim...illness in a child meant travel was cancelled. I had taken out the full package in the case of a cancellation - this was rejected by Collinson having sent all relevant info. Many months later I got around to querying the decision - they acknowledged claim shouldn't have been rejected given the level of cover.. they'd reconsider if I sent in more info to confirm flights etc..still waiting
