Communication became inconsistent. Emails were often not answered in a timely manner, and it was difficult to reach someone directly for clarification. At crucial stages of negotiation, I felt largely left alone to interpret legal and strategic implications myself, and had to hire additional legal advise to help me reply their emails. In no occasion provided any support.
When settlement options were presented, they were framed in a very rigid way, without sufficient discussion of long-term consequences or alternative strategies. There was little room for nuanced guidance tailored to my individual situation.
For a service operating in a legally sensitive area, accessibility and responsiveness are essential. In my experience, this was lacking once the process moved beyond the initial steps.

Predatory, misleading and outright fraudulent business practices. Initially we agreed on 6 months rent savings. My rent was decreased by about €100. After they gave me a call (to avoid any written records), saying that they can help me reduce rent by another €300, but I need to sign an agreement whereby they get ALL of my rent savings. At the time it sounded like a good deal, but after signing they just sent me an invoice for all savings (without even an attempt of further decrease for me). When I refused to pay all savings, because no additional work was provided they first threatened me with a lawsuit. And later they have invoiced my landlord directly, who is now trying to claim ALL my savings on their behalf.
Hello, I am here to report that I had a good time using CONNY's services. You can ask them a lot of questions, and they will answer them. Both about your present situation, and the future/hypothetical ones. I would recommend everyone employ CONNY, since it is a free service. And honestly, they have better lawyers than my own paid lawyer.
We had an excellent experience with Conny. They were able to get us a 400 euros reduction! Process was fast, they were transparent and answered all of our questions. Took care of everything and presented us the offer that the landlord had proposed as well as their thoughts on it, they mentioned they were confident that they could get us a 600 euros reduction. We ultimately decided to take the offer from the landlord and they did not make us feel pressured into deciding otherwise. All in all, process was smooth and we are really happy with the service.
Conny did get my rent reduced. For that 2 stars. It took nearly 3 years, but it worked. Why not 5? - No customer service: they take *weeks* to answer any e-mail.- No actual legal advice: my landlord attempted to physically intimidate me into dropping the case and cut off my energy and tried to falsely evict me. When I called them for help I was merely shrugged at. If your landlord retaliates against you they will not provide any advice.When I had specific questions about how appeals worked, they would not explain. I was in the dark about the entire legal process the whole time even for the most basic questions (e.g. when does my landlord have to respond?).- They haven't refunded me: My case ended three months ago and Conny said I'd have my refund in 4 weeks. It never came. Two e-mails later and there is still no acknowledgment when I ask about the whereabouts of the refund. If the money is unavailable, knowing it is and knowing why and having that clearly communicated is the bare minimum and they cannot do even that.I was lucky to start my case before they decided to take 100% of your refund. But perhaps that is irrelevant and they will still keep it now? Unclear. I have to assume the worst since they are dismissive and uncommunicative of me when I ask about the refund of MY money. Disappointing. I would not recommend this service. Edit, 15th Jan: Conny attempted to have this review removed. It is verified now because what happened is true and I can prove it. 5 months in and I still have not received my refund and still have no update from them. Stay away from them entirely.
What Conny doesn't tell you is that your Landlord will charge you for any legal costs they've have incurred in if your case ends up in court. This is what happened to me. My landlord refused to negotiate with Conny so they went to court. When I moved out, my landlord deduct all legal costs from my deposit. Conny says it was legal for my landlord to charge me their legal costs. Conny does not reimburse these costs to you either.Additionally, be careful when you submit your request to Conny as they will immediately contact your landlord. By submitting your request to Conny you're granting them permission for reaching out to your landlord.ANSWER TO CONNY BELOW: Yes, I terminated the case for personal reasons (newborn) but I paid for ALL of the costs of the court proceedings (about 1400 Euros) as otherwise I could not terminate it. You, Conny, did not make any losses because you passed all the costs to me. If you sign up with Conny just remember: if they don't reach an agreement with your landlord in the first instance and offer you to take it up to court, consider the implications. Taking the case to court is double-edged sword type of situation.
