I would give CTFS a -5 stars (as in polar opposite of +5 stars) if I could. Susan was snarky and sarcastic when I phoned in today to close both of my credit card accounts with limits totalling $14,000. This company chose to raise the APR to what should be an illegal (and unethical) 28.99% interest rate. Do the math folks. That’s over $4,000 in annual interest at max credit utilization. They want that. Susan had the nerve to ask why I was closing it at which point I told her not only was I closing the accounts but no longer choosing to spend any of my hard-earned money at any Triangle store. Susan didn’t like that and got snarky when I told her that the new interest rate told me everything I needed to know about their corporation. So I delightfully told her that Greg Hicks will make her annual salary by January 2nd. Susan sarcastically said I was funny then hung up on me. The laugh is on her, because she obviously hasn’t checked Greg Hicks annual salary. Susan needs to wake up and realize she works for an unethical company. And to top it off, my wait was over 10 minutes, which indicates the criminally high interest payments people are paying is not being used to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Poorly operated corporation with substandard products basically ripping people off of their hard-earned money so that fat cats like Greg can do nothing but take that money away from you having not done a damn thing. If they offer you a card in store, say “not only no, but hell no.” In fact, don’t even give these bastards the time of day and don’t shop in their stores. It’s time us hardworking folks quit padding their bank accounts. We have spending power, and there are plenty of ethical companies out there who you can support. If you follow my advice, you’re welcome.

I would rate this company a -5 stars if possible

If I could, I would rate this company a -5 stars, which is the complete opposite of +5 stars. When I called today to close my credit card accounts totaling $14,000, the representative was snarky and sarcastic. This company decided to raise the APR to an unethical 28.99%. That translates to over $4,000 in annual interest at maximum credit usage. I informed the representative that I was closing my accounts and would no longer spend my hard-earned money at any of their stores. She seemed offended and responded sarcastically before hanging up on me. My wait time exceeded 10 minutes, indicating that the high interest payments are not being used to improve their services. This poorly managed corporation is essentially stealing from hardworking individuals for the benefit of those at the top. If offered a card in-store, I recommend saying “not just no, but hell no.” It's time we stop supporting companies like this and instead choose ethical alternatives.

Extremely poor support service

I waited 45 minutes on hold only to be disconnected because the office was closed. This has been a frustrating experience as I've been trying to reach them for two consecutive days regarding an issue connecting my accounts.

Longtime customer facing unexpected challenges

I’ve held this credit card for years, but after my husband’s serious accident forced us to relocate, I struggled to find work. Despite making payments I could afford, the company charged me $1,200 in interest within four months and sent my account to collections, severely impacting my credit rating. If you face sudden life changes, be aware that this company will not offer you the support you need.

A nightmare experience

This company has turned the past year into a living nightmare. After holding this card since 2013 without missing a payment, I faced an accident in 2024 and was out of work until 2025 without pay. I explained my situation, yet they threatened collections and even served me court papers. I had to resort to a high-interest loan to settle my debts with them. I will never shop or apply for another credit card from this company again!

Outstanding customer care and fair practices

I had a fantastic experience with a representative who exhibited exceptional patience, understanding, and kindness—qualities that are rare in customer service today. While I was undergoing treatment for a brain injury and facing issues with other credit card providers reporting incorrect balances, this company stepped in with a credit card at reasonable rates and assured me they would increase my limit once my score improved, which they did. I highly recommend them!

The process of signing up for this card was fraught with misinformation, delays, and poor service. Avoid falling for the sales pitch!

Agents avoiding calls

Multiple agents seem to be avoiding taking calls. It feels like they don't want to address customer issues, placing you back in the queue without explanation. The tone of the agents I've spoken to has been condescending and unhelpful, leading to a frustrating experience.

Unjustified account hold

It's ridiculous that they placed a hold on my account after I canceled the orders I had made. I want to use my card without these unnecessary restrictions.
