Stephen did very quick and excellent communication in sorting the Ranger Raptor in 48h. Excellent services at sales that turned bad once I drove off.
Absolutely not happy about it that you guys dont authorise when the garage local ford dealer could never get hold of service team and I authorise the work following the email protocol and now warranty cant be claimed. Why provide the warranty when you dont wanna give. Absolutely frustrating. And I am making an official ford complain.
Following issues followed after being drove home 300 odd miles from dealership. Its been in the dealership at ford for 17 days.
Wet belt overdue (about to snap)

I dont know how you guys (Desmond) passed the MOT.
Nothing personal against the sales personnel, but the way communication and this was treated after we did the official way.
I dont deserve to be treated like this. It was a gift for my wife as her first pickup. Lost the essense of this

I have just purchased a 2022 Ford Fiesta from Desmonds Strand Road. From my viewing of the car in the forecourt until my driving the car home our salesman John did an amazing job. Any queries I had were quickly dealt with and he stayed in touch by phone until my car was ready. I cannot recommend him enough if you are thinking of buying a car. I would also like to mention Majella the receptionist who was helpful, knowledgeable and very approachable. All in all I had a great experience. So thank you.
I just bought a second hand Sharan and had the pleasure of dealing with Michael Clarke. Right from 1st contact he gave us the incentive to travel up and view the car. As he wanted to give the car a full service and valet it was not available to take away there and then. He was very accommodating in arranging the car to be delivered and without asking provided a few extras to sweeten the deal. He is a credit to Desmond Motors and has great customer service.
AVOID!!! Bought a used car from Desmond's in summer 2023, before I shook hands I noted the keys for the car were not working correctly, I asked the salesman to put it right which I was assured would be done. Fast forward a year, multiple phone calls and visits later I'm still no further forward and am left with a car that only starts in cold weather . Desmond's advised me that it would cost them too much to put right despite initial assurances it would be. I'm left with no option but to put the problem right from my own pocket.I have waited a year to write this review as I thought I would give Desmond's every chance to fix the problem, it's got to the stage where the car hardly ever starts and I need to remedy the problem with the keys myself.I wouldn't advise using Desmond's at all, they strung the problem over a year, swept it under the rug and hoped I would go away. If you are using them, make sure any problems are put right before you part with your cash
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! LIES AND EMPTY PROMISES!!!!! the bridge end dealers do nothing but string u along and tell u what you want to hear. Bought a vw crafter at £21000 and was put off getting the van on numerous occasions as in the sales man’s words “just want to make sure everything’s right for you and get it fully serviced and valeted” so though fair enough, when I finally picked the van up I got to my work the following day met with low coolant lvl so rang Desmond’s to be told keep an eye on it and they would get it booked in, I asked surely the coolant would have been topped up following the service to which I was told of course it would have. I preceded to pull the dipstick to see black oil and opened the air filter to find a dirty filter the van was never serviced. I left the van back and was told i had to ring my insurance to claim for a courtesy vehicle which my insurance wouldn’t do so Desmond’s said I could use their van but would have to charge me £50 a day for insurance which obviously I wasn’t going to do they had the van for weeks and only managed to sort the service and the leak,the van needed the bumper fixed and the rear door sorted as it had cracked at the hinge am still waiting have had no call from them they’re obviously happy to leave customers annoyed as soon as they get their money. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs. I Have heard from so many disgruntled customers.
I bought a second hand van for sixteen thousand pounds. On the website it stated all vehicles are fully checked topped up with fuel taxed and tested. The sales person advised incorrectly regarding the vat and price and I was left paying 3000 more. The door and ventilator was broken and 2 keys were faulty 3 lights damaged and was advised they would all be fixed. The day after buying the battery went flat and didn't hold a charge, I had to bring a replacement over myself or risk getting stranded, the local garage condemned 4 of the 5 different cheap brand tyres as either too old and missmatched type and unevenly worn. And then the engine warning light came on. It needed a new EGR valve! Weeks later it went in one light and EGR fixed. I had to get the door, tyres and battery fixed at my expense due to safety. My mechanic checked the rattle in the suspension when Desmonds claimed no faultd and finds that all steering mounts and bushes plus six wishbone bushes are broken!!! Weeks later lights and the suspension plus the ventilator are replaced but the vent is still broken and I was told keys should be checked at VW. Months later still no word on refund for door, battery, tyres and keys plus the new heater is still not blowing. When they looked at the the vents again they even BREAK the dashboard too, and BREAK the new vent switch as well, so now it only blows at max power! It's over seven months later at this point, and ONLY NOW do they refuse to pay for repairs to door tyres or keys. I talk to manager and they agree to pay for battery and one key but DO NOTHING for another month! When I go down to chase it up they spitefully REFUSE to even pay for a key and ONLY THEN do they order the new ventilator that they broke. The dash AND vent broken by them still, keys broken from new, refund for all the repairs not received and it's now NINE months since the purchase.I have been fobbed off, lied to, treated with contempt and arrogance to my face! The manager spitefully refused the promised refund after I complained! Having spend over six hundred pounds extra I still have a van that locks and unlocks itself randomly with the blowers going at max all the time but no air goes to the demisters!
Blown away by the service provided by Desmonds Ford Derry last week. Victoria took my call regarding broken mirror indicator. Super kind and helpful. Called me back and got car in and sorted as soon as part arrived. Was fixed while I waited.Not used to service like this!!!Thanks VictoriaKind regards John
My wife was purchasing a vehicle from Desmond's which was one month shy of 6 years old and had 64,500 miles. I enquired if a new timing belt had been fitted and the salesman checked on this and said it had never been replaced but he booked it in with a Dacia dealer to have this done. Received a phone call the next day to say the vehicle had a timing chain as opposed to a belt which did not need replacing until 125,000 miles! On this basis my wife continued with the purchase and after doing 10,000 miles the chain snapped. Dacia told me that the chain should have been replaced before they sold the vehicle to us but Desmond's don't want to know or do anything about it even though they gave us incorrect information to make sure we would buy the vehicle. This was shameful on their part so we are taking the case to the Financial Ombudsman. Will never buy anything from them again.
