The team were amazing in matching us to a wonderful dog. The support they have and continue to offer is a real blessing to make sure we make the dogs transition and future go as well as possible.

The inseparable Blossom & Dewdrop

Our experience of Snetterton Dogs Trust could not have been more perfect! The team walked us thru every step with a wealth of information, assurance, experience and heartfelt sincerity for the dogs future well being. The dog handlers were so relaxed and calm with our chosen dogs as they introduced us to them and everyday thereafter, whilst visiting until we could take our Staffie’s home. Everyone from Reception to the Behaviourist were so kind, understanding and knowledgable. Clarice, who oversaw the process connecting us to Isla and Lacey, aka Blossom and Dewdrop helped tremendously answering all our questions, easing our concerns and quelling our fears. Clarice did everything humanly possible to ease us into rehoming our new pups to the extent she came in on her day off to meet with my husband (who hadn’t been able to visit the centre as regularly); and discuss behaviour concerns we still had from previous experience of the breed. Clarice we are now two weeks in and you and the staff were so CORRECT in your assessments! The girls have settled in beautifully and are so well behaved…we love them and all of you for bringing us together🩷

I visited Basildon dogs trust on the 15th July ‘25 to follow up on the application form I had previously submitted. I had noted down exactly what I was looking for in a little companion. After chatting with one of the fantastic team and looking at the dogs which were available for adoption, I felt a bit disappointed as none of them was drawn to me. However further chat with the team led them to bring a very nervous small dog, when the kennel maid let go the lead, the little dog came straight to me, two days later I returned to Basildon and brought Polly home with me. If you’re looking for a canine companion how about a rescue, dogs trust Basildon will find you with a perfect match.

Dogs trust don't appear focused on rehoming.

Having lost our beloved pup of 14 years, we gave DT a visit to discuss options and next steps. We completed documentation, leaving contact phone and emails, and left with some degree of expectation; how wrong that turned out. A home visit was allegedly the next stage, couple of months later and no contact, let alone a visit being conducted. As previously having being humans to a dog we are well kitted out in both experience and expectations. Good sized house with tear fenced in garden, loads of dog toys and woodland walks on doorstep; idyllic for a dog, and either one or both of us are at home all day so pup would never be alone unless of his choosing.Neither of us have had contact from dogs trust yet however our name is now on a list with a breeder who's girl is not with pup yet.Dogs trust have failed massively in my opinion and a pup has lost our on a forever home

Adopting a Senior dog from Dogs Trust

Everything was well organised. We were even able to take our new dog home with us after the meeting visit at Dogs Trust, Shrewsbury. Minnie is an absolute delight and a welcome addition to our family after losing our beloved dog Maisie in April. She may be 15 but still has an amazing zest for life. We love her to bits !
