So despite the parent company website outlaying the company goals to include 'transparency' and all that type of rubbish seems this doesn't cascade to Easyterra. After booking and reading the small print in the contract do I then see a little line about local road safety charges being payable on collection. So that's another €21 snuck in that wasn't quoted for.
Initially I'm worry when reading some of the -ve review. Fortunately my experience was very pleasant. The whole process of booking to picking up the car was seamless. Everything that were promised were given including zero worry package at very competitive price. It was cheaper than booking directly to the car rental. Highly recommended.
I have used Easyterra a couple of times in the past, and have always been quite satisfied. What I experienced this summer however let me change my mind, and I will not use Easyterra anymore. I booked a car from a smaller rental agency in Italy via Easyterra. Since I wanted to pick up the car in one place and return it in another, I made sure to choose a vehicle that was advertised with "one-way surcharge included" on the Easyterra website. However, once I got the voucher, the surcharge was suddenly excluded. I contacted Easyterra before I picked up the car, but they said I should complain only once I had returned it again. However, when I did that, they told me that it's too late and I should have complained before...
I reserved two cars in Milan. When the confirmation came in, one car had the wrong pick up timing (system's error). When called to rectify, the customer service person was so unhelpful and said "unless you can prove it's a system's change, I cannot do anything!" and wanted me to pay extra just to change the time to the one I booked originally!!
I booked a car through them with gold star based in Nice France. We were travelling on a Saturday and easyJet canceled the flight out. It was very difficult to contact easy terror to ask them to let Goldstar know that we would be late. When we got to nice 12 hours later gold star had cancelled our booking and easy tera had not contacted them as we requested. So we lost the entire £300 that we spent on booking the car. Obviously this is Goldstars fault as well. In future I will just go and book a car when we arrive or try to do it directly with a reputable hire car company.
