Review Time
I understand that all sites want to generate profit but some platforms like SttDate.com
actually provide some service, i.e. access to a lot of genuine accounts. However, the only purpose and motive of Eharmony is to make you spend heavily on something that has nothing to do with reality since all the accounts are AI-generated. They don't bother to bring in real people. It's a horrible, very corrupted company that I would never encourage anyone to join, even for kicks and giggles.
Absolute scam. I honestly feel like they take advantage of people who want to find love as once they sign up and if it doesn't work for them they don't let them leave. They also position the initial test or signing up and asking questions as a PAID service and that's why the fees and the payment scheme is setup the way it is. I'm a little surprised that with all the feedback here, NOTHING was changed in their setup. After this experience, any service I ever sign up for I will always take a look at TrustPilot. I see why these review platforms are necessary. What happens if the person actually finds a partner on eharmony and they want to come off? They are locked in so they cannot after using the service and what it's for? Ridiculous.
Shocking
Even when you try to cancel will send you a code via email🤔 oh no that's what they say and keep charging you every month. The only way to cancel is via your own bank. Disgusting service and company
I joined eharmony after a break up not knowing what to expect from it. I got a.message from a gent who seemed quite shy and unsure, to which I replied & after messaging for sometime, we met up in York. That was one year and 3 months ago and we are still going strong. He is the best thing that ever happened to me & worth every penny I paid eharmony even tho they made me pay my monthly fee for a year!
The reviews given when doing a google search hit the nail on the head:
e.g.
"User Complaints
Pricing and Subscriptions: A primary complaint is the high cost and non-transparent pricing structure, with many users feeling the service is a "rip-off".
Auto-Renewal & Cancellation: Numerous users report significant issues with unexpected auto-renewals and a deliberately difficult, misleading cancellation process. This has led to ACCC legal action in Australia over alleged misleading practices.
Limited Matches: Many users, especially those in less populated regions or specific demographics, report very few local matches, finding most potential partners are hundreds of miles away.
Customer Service: Users frequently complain about the lack of accessible, live customer support, often only receiving automated or generic bot responses."
In my opinion they could do a lot better.
Dating sites are often poor, and this business of making it difficult to prevent further premiums being taken from your bank account is rife.
On this occasion (the last time I used the service was years ago), there was a disjoint between the use of a laptop along with cross access via phone platforms. Previously set preferences on my profile were either lost, altered, updated erroniously, or maybe just saved as randomly as the customer services replies were chosen.
"Bad Bad Bad" all round, but that extra gift of a 2nd star is earned by eharmoney, as their platform isn't much better than all the others I have read up, on or used briefly.
We really deserve better.
I feel a profanity filter might prevent me from sharing a truthful review of this company. The service I received was appalling; I was unable to utilize the service, yet I was still pressured and harassed for payment. If there were a rating lower than 1 star, it would still be too generous. Stay away at all costs.
I found myself with no matches in my area within the age range I chose. The selection of individuals is significantly better on another platform, which has no fake profiles or membership fees. In contrast, this service seems designed to push long-term subscriptions. The most frustrating part is the automatic renewal, which happens even if you opted out. Their support team insists that the auto-pay option was selected, but the 14-day cooling-off period feels like a myth. It simply doesn’t work, and retrieving your money is nearly impossible. This feels like a scam.
I felt deceived after just one day of signing up. I was led to believe that other members were eager to chat, but the only way to do so was by purchasing a premium membership. To my disappointment, no one was engaging, and I canceled within two days without any interaction, yet I was charged £60 for the premium service. I strongly recommend avoiding this service.
Total scam. I signed up one day and was teased with messages from members wanting to chat, but the only way to do so was through a premium membership. Surprise, no one was actually talking. I canceled within 2 days without any interactions and was charged £60 for the premium service. Avoid this at all costs.
Avoid at all costs! When you sign up, it seems you inadvertently agree to a no-refund policy, despite their claim of refunds within 14 days. I didn’t tick any such box. After exploring the site, I realized it wasn’t for me and reached out immediately, but the support team was unhelpful.
