I don't know why this website is still online? I really signed up to help but have been unsuccessful. I paid my contribution but I kept on being asked to pay it.I was supposed to do my background check but the company listed on their website said they are no longer affiliated with Elderhelpers. No phone number is available and I wrote to the email addresses multiple times asking for support and next steps. The only answer I ever got was "what was your questions?"...nothing else. Super disappointing. This business/ website should be shut down.
I think this is a fake organization. I’ve been trying to connect with volunteers and no one I’ve reached out to has been a current volunteer. So I’m thinking this organization was real at one point and is now abandoned. I’ve been donating monthly and I’ve asked them to stop my auto-donation. I received a rude email in response.
I want to volunteer with ElderHelpers.org, I'm very interested in helping seniors. I've had very rewarding experiences helping seniors and ElderHelpers.org seems like a very good place to let seniors and their family members find a volunteer who can help.I'm excited to sign up with ElderHelpers.org!
Pretty sure this is a scam. I filled out my bio and followed all directions to volunteer, and subscribed $10/month to help out. 6 months went by without any communication about getting matched, but I was getting charged every month so I decided to cancel. There is no way to cancel online. I emailed to cancel, and they asked me to set my profile to "Unavailable" first so I wouldn't get any matches. That's where the problems started.I wasn't able to update my profile because I kept getting an error message when trying to change my profile. When I shared the error with them over email, they said they "bothered" their developer and he said it was fine LOL. Then I looked up other reviews about this place. And yup, other people with similar experiences.
When looking for someone to help my elderly Mother, I found ElderHelpers.org and I was very skeptical. I was thrilled that such an organization existed but one has to be careful with internet transactions and since there was a fee, I wanted to be extra careful. After searching for other organizations that might offer a similar service and not having luck and then doing research on ElderHelpers.org, I found they were listed on AARP's website and that was enough for me! So I joined and emailed all the volunteers and after 3 weeks one called me! She is truly an Angel and the best volunteer I could ever hope for. Thank you for the service you provide because in my area, there are none others like yours.
I've loved volunteering with Elderhelpers.com. I was able to help someone over a few months while they were experiencing some medical issues and needed help getting to the doctors as their family lived away. I think the donation helps to ensure volunteers are connecting with people who are somewhat vetted.
