Review Time
I made a purchase without fully understanding what I was getting into. Therefore, I needed to find out how safe it would be for me to drive. By researching through a reliable source, I was able to ease my concerns with the information I found.
I paid £1 thinking I was getting a one-time vehicle report, but it turned out to be a 3-day trial that automatically switched to a £49.99 subscription. The details about the subscription were not clearly presented and were written in low-contrast text, which I missed during the purchase. I did not intend to sign up for an ongoing subscription. I canceled right after I noticed the charge and didn’t use the service beyond the trial. Despite this, the company refused to give me a refund and kept citing “company policy” instead of consumer rights, only offering store credit. I find this practice misleading and unfair. Given my experience and the numerous similar reviews, I would strongly recommend others to exercise caution before using this service.
I’ve reached out to the support team regarding additional information but have not received a reply. It’s crucial for them to highlight that the £1 offer is a trial, ideally in a noticeable color during payment processing. I found it unclear that I would be charged £49.99 within three days in the UK. This unexpected charge was taken from my card without any prior indication from the company that it was a trial, or I would have canceled immediately. I only discovered the payment after receiving a notification from my bank. I sent an email requesting to cancel my account and also unsubscribed through my account. However, I received a response stating that my email wasn't registered, which is incorrect as I have proof of my correspondence regarding the £1 offer and my cancellation. Advertisements need to be crystal clear to prevent customers from unknowingly incurring charges. I feel uneasy that the company complicates understanding what consumers are agreeing to. I attempted to contact my bank, but they advised me to wait until the payment clears before raising an issue. I plan to address this with my bank tomorrow. I’m incredibly disappointed as it seems the company lured me in with the £1 offer, likely knowing many would overlook the high recurring charge. Also, be cautious, as this is an American company, which may lead to communication challenges. Please think carefully before signing up for the £1 trial to avoid a similar situation.
Untrustworthy service. They tricked me into a £50 subscription and are making it extremely challenging for me to obtain a refund. The initial report I received for £1 was also ineffective and inaccurate compared to a legitimate report I later acquired.
