Purchased an item. Seller had good feedback. Item didn't arrive. Courier tracking just said waiting for parcel. Too late, saw all bad feedback. Most good feedback all from same person!! ETSY site is useless when things go wrong. Lots of lovely people selling lovely things. Shame that some people ruin it. Won't use site again.

Tried to contact Etsy with a complaint about an item bought from Little Silver Kiln but couldn’t communicate with anyone and the options available weren’t relevant. Limitations on explanation of complaint and no proper point of contact. Also got no joy from Little Silver Kiln and am totally upset that I have wasted £80+.

I was quite let down by the seller's aggressive response to my inquiry, accusing me of merely seeking trouble. Despite my attempts to clarify, the seller chose to ignore my question and processed a refund unilaterally, even though I wanted to keep the item for delivery.

My New Year's resolution is to steer clear of the platform. They treat sellers poorly and cater primarily to larger vendors. The original essence of the platform, focused on handmade items from home, has been lost. It resembles a marketplace filled with inexpensive products that many sellers misrepresent as handmade, charging significantly higher prices. Many of these items can be found on cheaper sites. Sellers who put in hard work are overshadowed in search results. The fees are high, and support is minimal—if they respond at all, it's often automated. The leadership has tarnished the site. As a seller for over 14 years, my loyalty means nothing to them; they just want to profit. The advertising system seems deceptive, as views may be artificially inflated. If you're a smaller seller, I recommend avoiding this platform. It's unfortunate, as many great sellers have been sidelined by larger businesses.

The platform has lost its appeal.

The platform is no longer what it used to be. It once showcased authentic small businesses that I enjoyed supporting. Now, even when I select local sellers, they often turn out to be overseas, simply shipping from the UK. I’ve made several purchases where items never arrived. I find myself constantly pursuing orders or seeking refunds due to scams. It's disappointing for the honest sellers, but I will be exploring other options. Don’t waste your time and money.

I bought a few items from the platform and was satisfied with my purchases. However, as a seller, my experience is frustrating. Prominent sellers are prioritized in search results, while smaller sellers are buried. Although I paid for ads, I'm skeptical about their effectiveness; they might just be generating bot clicks. Recently, I made a sale after months, but after fees and ad costs, I was left with only £0.60 and had to cover shipping myself. The ad fees are due monthly, yet they deduct fees beforehand. Customer service is lacking; there’s no direct contact available. When I reached out, responses were either delayed or nonexistent. After receiving a low review due to a buyer's oversight, my ratings were adjusted unfairly, highlighting the worst reviews instead of a balanced view. Despite having numerous sales and positive feedback, my shop's visibility has been harmed. The platform once supported handmade items but now favors larger sellers, and I fear it’s losing its essence.

Steer clear!

I ordered a boxed passport cover with a luggage tag, but what I received was simply a passport cover in a plastic bag. After filing a complaint, the seller insisted that this was what I had ordered. I’m reaching out to my credit card company for assistance regarding this misleading sale.
