Review Time
UPDATE 2 (March 1, 2026, 2:35 pm MST):
I have now discovered that the only way to "protect" the books I want to read is to delete my 'Saved' list entirely. It appears Everand uses your interest data to target and hide high-value titles once your credits hit zero. I am now forced to keep an external list of direct links to bypass their search engine. Convenience is literally being punished by this company.

UPDATE 1: (March 1, 2026, 2:25 pm MST):
After investigating, I’ve discovered that Everand "hides" high-value premium titles from search results and "Saved" lists once a user has used all their monthly "unlocks." They aren't actually gone, but they become invisible until the next billing cycle (in my case, March 15).
While the books are technically still available, this "cloaking" behavior is highly deceptive and makes it appear as though the catalog is being throttled. I am keeping my review low to warn others: Your books haven't vanished—Everand just hides them once you've used your credits for the month.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I am a subscriber in Canada on the Everand Plus plan ($23.99 + GST Canadian for a person who resides in Alberta), which is supposed to give me 3 premium unlocks. However, Everand is actively throttling my account by hiding the specific books I want to read.
I have been trying to access 'Dark Age' and 'Light Bringer' by Pierce Brown. When I am logged into my paid account, these books are completely scrubbed from search results and have vanished from my 'Saved' list. Yet, when I look at the Everand website in an incognito window, the books show as 'Available' for new users
This is a deceptive regional bait-and-switch for Canadian users. They are hiding high-value content from paying members to force us to use our monthly 'unlocks' on cheaper, lower-tier filler. It is a slap in the face to the consumer to gatekeep the catalog after taking our money.
I am demanding an immediate billing credit for my February subscription. Because I will lose access to my previously 'rented' content if I cancel, I feel held hostage by a service that refuses to show me the books I am paying for. Do not trust this service—they will hide the books you actually want the moment you pay for a premium tier.
The app has become more and more restrictive. It increased its prices and reduced the amount of books you can read to 3 a month. Now I am told I can't even change the highlighting color! After being a loyal client for over 15 years, I can't wait for my subscription to finish so I can find a better option.
Previously, the platform offered a fantastic and affordable way to read and listen to numerous titles. However, the recent changes to the plans have been disappointing. I would prefer to maintain my unlimited access even at a higher cost. If they eliminate the old payment option like others have, I will have to part ways.
Exceptional service that I have relied on for years. So far, I haven't discovered a better alternative. It's affordable, offering a vast selection of books and audiobooks. Additionally, there's access to an expanded collection through a partner service. Although I find the transition from the partner service to a new combined offering a bit puzzling, I assume there are valid reasons behind it. Overall, the product is excellent, and I strongly recommend it.
Exceptional service. I've been using this for years and haven't found a better alternative. It's affordable, offering a vast selection of books and audiobooks. Plus, the added benefit from the additional service is a nice touch. I don't quite understand the shift from the previous service to the new model, as having just one platform seemed simpler. However, they likely have their reasons. The offering is truly impressive, and I highly recommend it.
Once a fan of the service, I was frustrated by the new unlock plan. Initially, I hesitated but continued using it... UNTIL... I used my one unlock only to be booted from the book after 12 chapters, finding out it was just a preview. I'm returning to audiobooks, where I can still access titles even after canceling my membership.
When I find books I want to read, it's great, but most titles I seek keep changing their availability month after month, making it impossible to access them. This feels like a ploy to extract money by promising future access that never materializes. I wouldn't recommend spending your money here.
I started using the service for reading this year, and it seemed good at first. I found books I wanted to read. However, they suddenly changed the subscription terms, limiting me to just one book per month for a hefty fee. Buying books elsewhere is now a better option. Alternatives like other platforms are worth considering.
I generally enjoyed this product even after the subscription changes, but after upgrading, I ended up being charged for both plans. When I reached out for clarification, I was dismissed and ended up paying double. The support team's response was unhelpful, placing the blame on me for a supposed error.
