Submitted a claim for a leaking/split pipe in my elderly parents bathroom. originally advised a surveyor would be coming out. Next call from them is they are struggling to get anyone, so could we submit pictures. I did this. They then decided on the strength of the pictures it is grouting and sealent at fault so have declined. This is a nightmare when it is a leaking pipe to the shower. I am fuming.
Terrible experience. They were managing a claim for a leak. it took them 7 months from booking a contractor to fix the damages to the contractor starting the work. The contractor tried to do repairs whilst damp was still existent so the repairs didn't work out and they left the job unfinished (In fact the builder ripped the wall open to redo the work and realised there was damp present and just left it like that). Evolution just reported the job as completed to the insurance company. during the terms of my dealings with them, I had to constantly chase everything. Avoid at all costs if you can! if your insurer tried to hand things over to them just try to do the repairs yourself and claim for the costs instead so you have more control. The image is a picture of what they have called 'Job done' after over 7 months of wait! To insurance companies, you are paying for your customers getting bad service and everything getting prolonged!
My claim has been open for 8 months and my bathroom is still not repaired. Difficult process, which has caused lots of stress and wasted time. After a slow start due to an unresponsive team member, the claims staff try to be helpful. However the contractors they use are unreliable - the first didn't return calls and the 2nd hasn't showed up on agreed dates.
The insurer themselves were v good and extremely prompt. I wasn’t a fan of the automated questions via a fraud third party team who made me feel awful, it’s great for catching those who are dishonest but for genuine folk it’s not nice being accused you’re deliberately claiming to gain. Logic would surely prevail that my goods were less than 12 months old and no need for new ones. But nonetheless all ok now and the insurer I can’t fault them
