I would give no stars if I could. I visited a travel show which was hosted by HOLIDAY INN Southend airport. It advertised free parking but when I arrived I wasn’t familiar with the area, so I pulled over for 5 minutes to have a look into the parking. I then parked and went into the show, getting my ticket validated at the end, for free parking. Two weeks later I received not one, but two PCN’s for stopping in a non stopping zone. I didn’t see any notices about this, but then I wasn’t looking for any. I didn’t obstruct anything and I think it shouldn’t be allowed to treat people like this. I’ve appealed but of course it’s been rejected. Do I pay up or let them take me to court?
In January, I parked my car at the Lincoln St Marks parking facility, which is managed by the company. I made a payment with my card but didn’t receive a ticket. I attempted to contact them but there was no response. Two other individuals were present who had also paid and faced the same issue, so they left for another parking option. I searched for another ticket machine, but there was only this one available. I had a court appointment that day at the local magistrates court and needed to leave. Upon returning, I found a parking charge notice (PCN) on my vehicle. I tried to reach out to them again but was unsuccessful. I have refused to pay after receiving numerous threats from this well-known company, often criticized in the media for being overly aggressive in their practices. Now, as December approaches, my court date is set for the end of January. I am confident that I am in the right; I paid for parking, but the machine failed to issue a ticket. I have my bank statement indicating the payment date and time. This company has not fulfilled its contractual obligations. I have adhered to the agreement, parked, and paid, yet they have violated the contract by not maintaining the ticket machine. I have consulted with friends who are legal professionals, and my advice is to stand firm if you know you are right and have acted within the law.
I brought a ticket, unfortunately the first few digits did not show on the screen so I cancelled it and started again coursing it to add the extra digits, excellent parking sent me a fine of £100 I've appealed just to be told they have rejected it, so I appealed again, I will go to court if I have to, I just want to know, as anybody else been in the same situation, and won there appeal
This company is a daylight robbery.I took ticket for 2 hrs and parked. After few days I got a notice for parking penalties. Luckily I pay by credit card and the ticket is still in my car. So the appeal going on. Most of us pay cash and throw the ticket after parking. Especially women drivers. So please carefully if park there. Better don't use these type of stupid parking.
Went to York travel lodge followed all the signs to the hotel there was no parking only permit so went into find where to park must have been 5min and got an invoice (they are not fines)from excel for £60.I appealed but was totally ignored as expected Do not go anywhere where these people operate
I’m writing this so other people don’t go through what I did.In November 2025, I received 4 parking tickets worth £40 each while using PureGym St. Mark’s, Lincoln, despite the fact that I am 100% certain I entered my correct registration number into the gym system on every visit fr the 2 hours members parking. PS the tickets came laters came days after my trips to the gym When the parking company (Excel Parking) claimed they couldn’t find my registration number, I appealed. They rejected my appeal immediately and told me I was only allowed to appeal once. Even after sending multiple emails explaining the situation, they refused to review it again.I also called them, and the representative I spoke to was rude and dismissive, and told me there was nothing they could do and they would end the call.PureGym didn’t help either. They told me they had no record of my vehicle registration for that period, even though they could confirm that I was at the gym on those dates. In the end, I had to pay £160 in parking charges in just one month, even though I followed the instructions and entered my registration number correctly. My advice:Do not use Excel parking, neither the gym nor the parking company will support you.
If i could give 0 stars i would. £18 million made in 2024 from finesIf i could give 0 stars i would. The worst parking company in existence in the UK. Money making scheme, I appealed a recent parking ticket i got and they outright refused any of my evidence and issued with a £100 fine. The area in Sutton Coldfield has local shops: aldi/ tkmaxx/B&M, anywhere else in the UK you don't have to pay for parking to shop at these local stores.Take a look at companies house and how much this company has made in 2024- over 18 million pounds from fines.
