Extremely Disappointed with the Arbitration Process

If I could rate this experience lower than one star, I would. As a professional mobile mechanic, I was hired to work on an older vehicle with numerous existing mechanical and electrical problems. Upon arrival, the customer confessed to attempting repairs themselves, which led to further damage. We had a clear discussion, and he agreed that some parts would be ordered for future work.
I completed the tasks we agreed upon and fixed most of the significant issues. However, after the job was finished, the customer refused to pay and lodged a complaint through a third-party platform and then through an arbitration service. He provided some photos that failed to substantiate his claims and overlooked the damage he had caused.
During the hearing, I presented my side clearly and truthfully. Unfortunately, the arbitration service allowed the customer to bring his spouse as a witness, which felt biased. There was no independent expert assessment of the vehicle.
What was most alarming was that the arbitrator disregarded the actual market value of the car, which is not even worth $2,500. Yet, the arbitration service ruled against me and demanded I pay $8,000, a sum that far exceeds the true value of the vehicle.
This ruling was unjust, one-sided, and financially crippling for a small business owner. The entire process felt neither neutral nor professional.
I strongly recommend that contractors and service providers steer clear of this arbitration service. The process is unfair, unbalanced, and unreliable.

Extremely Disappointed with the Process

If I could rate this less than one star, I certainly would. As a professional mobile mechanic, I was hired to fix an old vehicle with numerous existing issues. Upon arrival, the owner admitted to attempting repairs that caused further damage. We agreed to order some parts for a future visit after I completed the initial work. However, after I resolved most of the major issues, the owner refused to pay and filed a complaint through a third-party platform and then through arbitration. He provided photos that did not support his claims while ignoring the damage he had caused. During the hearing, I presented my case clearly, but the process felt biased when the owner was allowed to bring a witness. There was no independent assessment of the vehicle's value, and the arbitrator disregarded that the car was worth less than $2,500, instead ruling against me for $8,000. This decision was unreasonable and devastating for my small business. I strongly advise others to steer clear of this arbitration process.

Inequitable Outcomes in Arbitration

As others have noted, if you're up against a corporation, winning in arbitration is nearly impossible. In my case, the representative from the service admitted they were wrong to deny my reimbursement claim, yet the arbitrator still sided with them. Even with the company's admission of fault, I lost. This experience was truly frustrating.

A System Favoring Big Businesses

Having read numerous reviews about incompetence and bias favoring large corporations, I approached the process with low expectations. Unsurprisingly, the ruling favored the corporation. The entire experience felt scripted, with corporate lawyers putting in minimal effort. The arbitrator's online reviews matched my experience, as it seemed he did not properly review the evidence. This is not a venue for justice, and the responses to negative reviews are generic and unhelpful. I hope to warn others to avoid this route, as fair evaluations are unlikely.

Never Using This Service Again

I had to utilize this service through a third-party platform and I will never do so again. The opposing party provided false information, submitted paperwork from a different region, and ignored their obligation to pay our deductible. This entire ordeal cost us a vehicle and ultimately led to $25,000 in upgrades and lost business opportunities during the past three years.

A Disheartening Experience

This arbitration service, linked to a third-party rental platform, is deeply flawed. In my case, I rented a vehicle that did not match its description. The owner even claimed I was a criminal for alleged theft. Despite providing significant documentation, the ruling favored the owner. I strongly advise against engaging with this service.

Biased and Unfair Judgments

We filed a complaint against a contractor found through a platform that recommended this arbitration service. Unbeknownst to us, this service favors contractors who are affiliated with it. My evidence was disregarded while the contractor's false claims were accepted. Despite showing clear proof of damage and unfinished work, the judgment felt biased. I would not recommend this service to any homeowner; a more unbiased approach is essential.

Consider Court Over Arbitration

This complaint is directed at the arbitration process, which lacks fairness. We hired a contractor for a door installation, but they caused significant damages and left the work unfinished. I reported this to a third-party platform, which suggested filing a claim through arbitration. I submitted ample evidence, including photos and messages, but the ruling favored the contractor, ignoring clear dishonesty. I believe this platform is not impartial and I would recommend pursuing civil court instead, even if it takes longer.

Corporate Bias in Arbitration

This arbitration service consistently sides with the corporation, no matter the circumstances. The claims manager even removed me from the platform. I urge fellow service providers to avoid this route and consider legal action instead.

Ignored Evidence and Unfair Decisions

My evidence was completely overlooked, and the ruling favored the corporation. The final decision essentially dismissed my proof because I provided an actual cash value for my vehicle.
