We recently completed a fantastic development that has really transformed our home. The project included an infill ground floor extension and to then open to the rear of the house to create a spacious, open-plan kitchen diner, as well as a loft dorma conversion that added a new bedroom with an en suite.
We chose this company because they were transparent with their costings, took the time to understand what we wanted to achieve, and were consistently approachable throughout the process. Their professionalism and willingness to listen gave us confidence from the outset.
As with any major project, a few issues arose along the way, we always felt comfortable discussing them. The team responded and worked collaboratively with us to put things right, which made the entire experience far less stressful.
Overall, we are delighted with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a home renovation or extension.
Professional service from start to end. They did not raise a single unforeseen to the extent that they manger to absorb it all from digging to building to fine finish. The architect, the PM and the builders team were all working at top level. I would recommend John and John all day long. The PM and the Architect are trust worthy and the compose solid experience. They all dealt with the building regs site visits and brought the project to a successful conclusion

We used First Choice for several parts of an initial renovation, and I must say the work was brilliant. We had quite a big project, which included a new roof, gutters, new windows and doors, new plumbing, and the removal of a load-bearing wall to open up the kitchen. There were also a few other tasks, such as bricking up a window and removing a chimney stack.Tony, who comes round to do the initial quote, is great—no sales patter, listens to what you need and comes back with a quote. His pricing was spot on, based on the research we had done, so no issues there. Some of the other quotes we received were just daft—people chancing their arm. Also, Tony comes across as the kind of person you’d prefer to give your business to—he clearly knows his stuff, and I instantly felt confident that the job would be done well.The work was completed to an excellent standard, and AJ, the project manager, was there throughout to help. AJ was always available for questions during the project—another top guy.The team they’ve assembled is excellent—polite lads who just get on with the job. Keep them supplied with brews, and they’ll crack on! It was actually a bit sad when they finished, as they were great to have around the house. The roofers were fantastic, and one of our neighbours even commented on how professional they were—there was minimal disturbance.At the end of the project, we decided to get Shane in to do the plumbing, based on how good the rest of the team had been (the price quoted was fair). The work was once again completed to a high standard and done efficiently.I would 100% call Tony and First Choice again for any major work, and I’d recommend them to anyone. Five-star service at fair and competitive prices—what more can you ask for.

From the very start the First choice team were professional, the Project Manager & Project Director would turn up on site (on time) wearing First choice clothing. Our project was a full house renovation plus extension: They engaged with our neighbours to make them aware of what building would be carried out & made sure that no building work was conducted on days that was inconvenient for them. The project manager had a clear schedule and kept us upto date with progress. He also liaised with our own contractors to make sure the project ran smoothly.House renovations are stressful but First choice were there every step of the way making sure I could make informed decisions.

We selected First Choice based on an initial meeting with Tony who listened to our requirements for the build and budget. He returned with the designer who drew up the plans which we agreed on, with a few minor revisions. Tony then met with us to discuss the budget and timeline with AJ the Project Manager.All aspects of the build were covered within the budget. Design, permissions, building inspections and structural drawings.The build was started on the date specified and completed by the end date on the contract which did come in on budget. The contract was very exact and transparent with dates and schedule of payments, all of which were attained on time.AJ the Project Manager was fantastic and was always available to answer and resolve any queries. All works were carried out by teams of skilled, polite and diligent tradesmen.We would absolutely recommend First Choice ~ the whole process was made stress free. Thank you all !
