First Choice Extensions were responsible for the design and construction of a rear kitchen extension in our Victorian mid-terrace.We were particularly impressed by the design pack which not only provided us with a clear vision and architectural plans, but also handled all of the complications and admin required when going through the planning permission process.We decided to remain in our property throughout the building process and First Choice Extensions made this as comfortable as possible by ensuring the property was secure, but also helping figure out how we could continue to live and how soon we might return to normality.The workforce was very friendly – everyone who worked on the build was clearly highly specialised in their trade and completed the work to an excellent standard.When we were presented with challenges we were really impressed with the level of customer service and how easy it was to contact First Choice Extensions who always had a can-do attitude to resolve issues as promptly and effectively as possible.First Choice also went above and beyond when we needed to reach agreements with our neighbours and handled almost all of the communication in order to avoid conflicts surrounding boundary issues and alike.The build itself was completed within the projected timeline and the project ran against the staged phases almost like clockwork. This was particularly important for us as we had to arrange our Kitchen Fitter and Floorer - but First Choice Extensions stayed true to their word and delivered everything on time and without having to take any shortcuts.Overall we would highly recommend First Choice Extensions. We’re delighted with the finished product and the hard work and expertise of the team has truly transformed our home.
FCE have recently completed a kitchen extension, garage conversion and full first floor renovation for us. It was a 4 month build and we lived in the house throughout. In summary, I would recommend FCE to anyone looking for a builder and would give 4.5 stars. We are very happy with the end result, and it completed pretty much at the fixed price that Tony quoted at the start of the project (subject to a couple of minor variations). The completion date was also met (albeit there was a bit of contingency built into that timeline so there were weeks when things did not happen due to supplier, weather etc.)Things did not go perfectly - at some points in the project, communication of when certain tasks were going to happen could have been better at some points, and there were snags that needed to be rectified following requests from us but AJ did manage expectations at the start of the project by saying things would go wrong. AJ and Tony were always on hand to answer any questions or address any concerns. I could always get hold of them straight away (including at weekends) if needed. FCE did also go beyond what was technically itemised in the contract for ancillary works / finishing touches, which was appreciated.
Impressed overall.We recently used FC Extensions to open up between our dining room and kitchen. Tony came to give us a quote when he said he would, it was competitive and the work was carried out much sooner than expected. AJ called in to check we were happy with the work once it was completed. We would recommend FC Extensions and look forward to working with them again during the next phase of work on our house.
First Choice Extensions have just completed a single storey extension.From initial consultation through to completion they took care of everything. From sorting out the planning application and dealing with spurious delays caused by the council planning dept; to sorting out the design and calcs for all the steel beams; to managing the build through a tricky period to get the kitchen ready in time for Xmas. Tony, AJ and Leon and all their guys were really helpful.We are really happy with the finished extension.
We signed a contract with FC after meeting Tony and AJ the faces of the company, immediately I was at ease with the knowledge and expertise of these guys. The building work involved in my project was complex and over 3 floors. We had a complete rip out through the whole building and also added a dormer conversion and converted the downstairs into an open plan kitchen. There were issues like with any build of this size throughout the project but FC sorted them out in a timely manner, kept me up to date and went over and above to ensure we were looked after. The customer service level and quality of tradesmen they use is what puts these guys a level above the rest. We as customers are very particular and had a high spec in mind, we are also very hands on with what we expect from a build, but FC took this in their stride. There were times where stress and worry did come into play, partly due to covid and shortage on building materials and because we were out of our home for a long period with young children, this pressure was put on FC and they dealt with it with a fully professional and can do attitude, always going the extra mile to get us back in our home as soon as physically possible. We have nothing but good things to say, we were blown away by the high standard and finish of our build, it was above and beyond expectation and we would highly recommend this building company!

We recently completed our two story side and back extension to our semi-detached house in Cheadle with FCE. We were recommended FCE by a friend who had a single story side extension and were very pleased with the results.With us being totally new to any kind of house extension project Tony was excellent in his approach in explaining the process, answering questions and laid out a clear quote with fixed costs for each stage. This provided us with confidence in FCE, the project costs and timelines and we were happy to go ahead. Many other firms quoted for the project at a shorter timeframe or lower cost but were unwilling to go into the detail & time in the quotation phase that Tony provided. We were therefore happy to go ahead with FCE as we felt we trusted Tony to deliver on commitments.The planning process was simple with FCE and we received planning approval so the build could start in July (a month earlier than originally scheduled). Over the course of the build FCE provided all teams for demolition, brick laying, roofing/joinery, plumbing, electrics & plastering. Interaction with these groups was easy and importantly the quality of the work excellent throughout. This approach took a lot of stress away for us as we did not need to worry about arranging/organising these tradesmen.AJ was our customer service manager and he provided us with weekly updates on the project plan. He was our first contact for any queries and issues over the course of the build. AJ was fantastic in solving problems for us and addressing any concerns we had through the build. He was always responsive and having him available meant we could avoid chasing up specific tradesmen if there was a problem.The build was completed in November just before the arrival of our baby boy which was a huge relief. The quality of work was excellent and any final snags no matter how small have been dealt with quickly. Project was delivered on budget as per the quote provided by Tony.We have already recommended FCE to a neighbour on our road and we would definitely choose them again for any future house extension works. We are so pleased with our new space and the work completed by FCE which added a garage, playroom, extended 3rd bedroom & new 4th bedroom.
