First Bus are ripping off customers with the tap on/tap-off system - I caught the Park and Ride bus a week ago from York centre to Clifton, the driver told me that he did not have enough tickets (not my problem) so it would be better if I paid by card. He said that it is now a tap on/tap off system with cards so I would need to tap the pay point again as I leave. I did this but when I checked my bank account later, I saw that I had been charged twice so instead of £3 for a single, I had paid £6. Consequently, I completed the complaint form online which gives the option of ‘double-charging’ as the complaint. Customer Services wrote back and said that I should have taken it up with the driver; however, how could I know that I had been double-charged when I paid with my card and not my phone. After several emails, Customer Services still refuses to do anything so I will take this action further. First Bus is ripping off customers and Customer Services are anything but Customer Services as they want nothing to do with the complaint despite having entered all the details requested for them to check.
When a bus actually stops to let you on the driver is 99% likely to be friendly and helpful. But too often they don’t stop. The excuse, running late, is not good enough. When a bus is mostly empty why should they not stop for you? And sometimes they don’t stop to let you off. This the number 2 bus in Portsmouth.
On the 25/02/2026 at 12:35 I went to buy food from Greggs inside the Leeds Bus Station. There was a young man in a suit selling Gas and Electric for Scottish Energy. He was a very arrogant rude young man dressed in a scruffy great suit who was smirking at me and looking me up and down as I walked past him and stood next to him was A security guard who stood next to him giving me the same smirky dirty looks. Me being a civil servant on my lunch break had never felt so disrespected and frightened by the very people meant to make me feel secure. So I stopped and politely asked the young man giving me dirty looks what his problem was and then he did not reply but smirked and looked me up and down, at the same samr the tall security guard was trying to intimidate and act like he owned the place. So I also asked him what his problem was to which he smirked at me and said nothing in response. So I asked him for his security details and reminded him I was recording him to which he replied I am recording you in a sacarstci manner. I again asked him for his badge details as told him I was gonna complain to which he refused to give me his details telling me he did not have to. Honestly this security man created drama for no reason other than I thin he was fasting and getting frustrated with my request to know why he was staring me up and down, and why he wint give me his badge details. So I said I will go and get his details from the customer service desk. To my suprise he started falling me to the customer service desk and stood over me with his collegue threatning me that they are recording me. The kind lady at the desk helped me by going and getting the manager. Until then these two so called proffesional security guards acted like thugs towards me and treated me like a criminal. I cam in from my office at Quarry Houe for lunch and felt I was being profiled and intimidated. Then the manager finally comes out and the two security guards continued to stare at me like I was a criminial they was lookingf for. The manger defended their actions and tried to prevent me from obtaining therre details too and now I had 3 memeberos of staff plus customers all staring at me plus my collegues from work walking past. The manager said he would go me the details so I can make a complaint and nevr came back. Instead the two thugs of security guards cam out of the office after obviuolsly talking to the manager in the back. They walked past me so humbly it was a suprise they could not behave like that in the first place instead of standing and staring at people giving dirty looks. If your reading this First Leeds, please review your cameras and you will see you have employed 3 peoiple who are putting people like me off from ever coming intoi use the station again. Absoluteky disgusting I was not able to identify those members of staff by means of a name badge. They stand thete acting agggresively and I feel so upset to be treated this way
So tired of waiting for 3s and 4s that just mysteriously disappear from the bus stop monitor. If you’re going to cancel a bus, tell us it’s cancelled. Don’t just leave us standing there waiting for half an hour for it to mysteriously disappear and announce the next bus that will not get us where we need to go in time and have to get an Uber anyway. If you’re going to cancel it, DON’T KEEP TELLING US IT’S COMING!!!!
On the way to Monks Cross, the driver we had was very quick and dangerous. He didn't let people sit down b4 moving off.
On the way back, ( Same guy) we accidently got on the wrong bus and apologised but he had the attitude of a smacked arse. Journey back also very crowded elderly standing.
I was half an hour late for work. The bus driver stopped and parked for about ten to fifteen minutes, I was upstairs thinking the driver was having a break, went downstairs and he wasn't there. I had to pay for a taxi to get to work the rest of the way.

Another no show 14 bus today. Approximately 20% are no shows, very late/ cancelled without notice. The app is hopeless here as it only shows some routes, some of the time, but Not the ones I use. Even the notice boards in Swansea bus station are so often incorrect, missing buses, wrong platforms. Buses rarely have (working) stop information on board, to update passengers on where they are on their trip. How hard is it to roll out an actual working live system that is available in so many UK places and so many other countries??
