I can only repeat what others have said regarding the company's cold calling and asking reception staff if they want to repeat an order. They state they are a place to get cheap stationery supplies. They are not. Their costs are more than double where we usually get our supplies. Have asked to be removed from their contact list. I can assure you I am a genuinely conned client.
Always calls to say 'calling to see how many supplies you need for the next X months'.No introduction, no explanation that we have not ordered from them before. When I say we don't order from Franking Supplies they always say we have ordered from them before. As i do all the ordering and have done for over 12 years I know I haven't. I say not to call again but then get a call at some point. There are ways to get customers and choosing words to mislead or telling lies is a matter for Trading Standards, so I have written to them. It is disappointing as they may have good products but trying to mislead is not the way to get good business.
This company sales technique is aimed at tricking receptionists into believing that they are a regular supplier to the company of franking cartridges and labels. They send a fax or email pre-completed form that the receptionist simply needs to sign and date in order to complete the usual order. The ink cartridges and labels are extortionate and when you try to contact them to return the items they refuse to communicate. I told them via email to remove my company from their mailing list and to to contact us again. They ignored this and emailed an order form ready for my receptionist to sign instead.
Watch out for their call pretending to be your current supplier to trick you into placing an order Their method is described perfectly described by OFT against two Kent based companies if you Google "OFT STAMPS OUT MISLEADING CALLS FROM MAIL SUPPLIERS"Must be connected or a very tidy coincidence!!
Totally agree with all the other comments here. How on earth is FRANKING SUPPLIES UK LTD allowed to continue to trade??? Some loser called Amber phoned in connection with 'our order' and outright lied to a colleague about it - even going so far as to send a form across for signature with our 'usual' order on. Incidentally, there were no prices against the goods being sent - 2 x Ink Cartridges and 2 x Postal labels - totally laughable!! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!
Terrible company.Called trying to scam a young sales member of our team to make an order with them, claiming they are our usual supplier - which is not the case. We have no signed purchase order for them and they have said they cannot provide us with one as the order was 'placed' over the phone (which they claim in comments below this is needed to make an order?) We will be blocking them from all our call lists and reporting them to trade standards. If they want to take this case further they can feel free, will just be a waste of their money and time though. Learn how to run a business properly with your spare time!
I believe this company is dishonest, immoral and preys on junior inexperienced staff by cold calling and posing as your current supplier. We record all our telephone calls and on reviewing this they are clearly misleading and vague. They tricked our staff member to respond to an order form that is either emailed or faxed. There is no mention of costs on the phone or on the order form and the quantities are also misleading. They then sent an invoice separately and by the time we realised what had happened it was too late to return items. Their prices are unsurprisingly also excessive. They are ripping off small businesses and cause distress to inexperienced staff. I would recommend any business having the same issues to report them to your local trading standards
Agree with other companies who say these people are scammers. They even send letter through “debt collectors” if you question them. They call saying, “I’m Tara from franking supplies, we are stocking both labels and cartridges it’s for 6m. Will four of each be enough to see you through?”Especially when they rope in some junior member of staff, it’s really hard. They also ask for email and ask them to send it back soon and they’ll sort everything out. We have learnt from these scammers and will be vigilant next time. Bloody leeches.
