Extremely poor service, no follow-up, and nearly two months without my phone – now it appears to be lost.
I have been paying for this gadget insurance for the past THREE YEARS, expecting that if something happened to my phone the process would be straightforward. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite.
I started my claim on 20 January. Initially, the response was quick and I was asked to provide proof of purchase. Shortly afterwards, I was instructed to pay the €75 excess fee. I made the payment on 22 January, but after nearly a week without any update I contacted them again, only to be told that the payment had not been received on their side and that I should contact MY BANK, suggesting the issue was on my end.
Even though I had already sent proof of payment, I followed their advice and made a SECOND PAYMENT, which was also deducted from my account. Despite this, I was again told that they had not received the payment.
After contacting my bank, they confirmed that BOTH payments had been successfully authorised from my side and were simply waiting for the merchant to capture the funds. When I relayed this information, the responses I received were vague and no clear solution was offered.
After waiting another week with no progress, I had to call again and was then advised to make the payment over the phone instead.
Eventually, I received an email with instructions to send my device for repair, which was estimated to take *5–7 working days*. I sent the phone by registered post on Monday, 16 February.
Another week passed without any confirmation that the device had even been received. After sending emails on two consecutive days with no response, I called again and was told they would check the status.
On 2 March, after once again chasing them for an update, I was told that my phone had already been sent back to me and a tracking number was provided. To my surprise, the tracking showed that the parcel had actually been posted on 20 February, with multiple failed delivery attempts from An Post because the address provided was incomplete/wrong.
An Post informed me that the parcel now needs to be RETURNED to the sender, who will then need to resend it to me. At this point, I have no idea where my phone currently is or how long this process will take.
It has now been almost TWO MONTHS without my phone, and I rely on it for work. To make matters worse, I am leaving for a one-month vacation at the end of this week, and my phone is currently lost somewhere in transit.
Throughout this entire process, I have received no proactive updates whatsoever. Every single time I needed information, I had to chase the company myself by phone or email.
You expect that paying for insurance will provide *peace of mind*, but unfortunately this experience has been the exact opposite. It has been stressful, time-consuming, and extremely frustrating.
Based on my experience, I CANNON RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY and I will be cancelling my policy as soon as possible.
This is not a genuine company. In my experience, it’s a scam.
I paid insurance for almost 3 years for two devices. When I finally needed to make a claim, it was rejected without proper explanation. They completely ignore your emails and do not communicate properly.
What was more frustrating is once I reported the claim they continued to charge me for a device that’s lost . This is a Scam .
They are happy to take your money, but when it comes to paying out, they don’t help. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I paid this insurance every month for two years, believing I was fully covered. When I finally needed to make a claim after losing my phone, I was told that loss was not covered unless I paid an extra fee. This was never made clear when I signed up.The policy language is vague and subjective, especially regarding loss coverage, which feels deliberately misleading. After paying for two years, being told that I’m not covered when I actually need the service feels dishonest and unfair. In my experience, this operates like a scam: you pay consistently, but when the moment comes to use the service, they find a way to deny coverage. I feel misled and financially harmed by this company.
